Honestly, this exact thing. I don't think Linden, a guy who has been away from the game for so long, would either a) want to walk into a high pressure job, such as GMing a team without any prior experience or would want to do it in Vancouver.

I don't see Gillis being fired. Worst case he gets the GM title stripped, and is left as President, but even this is foolish. The time to fire Gillis was either last year (before the draft) or next year, after Gillis has had a chance to right the ship. Gillis has done lots of good with this team, and deserves the chance.

Anyone thinking Gillis will resign isn't thinking straight. Would you walk away from 8 million? No one would. Gillis will have to be fired, and I would be surprised if that happens. I think Torts gets canned. I get the feeling he won't be here next year anyways, may as well cut him lose already. Watch Gillis give him one more game, just to mess with TSN.

Chicago stepping up at the draft and offering Teräväinen might be the closest to a potential star centre that we can get. Add in Shaw plus a pick and we could be in business.

Yikes.. That's rough, but pretty fair. Don't need players slashing others in the head. This will likely add more pressure on Bo. They'll need him to every bit as defensively sound as he can be.

Maybe not tomorrow, but I wouldn't mind it being June. That's when most of the prospect hype really starts getting in depth.

I like Fluery, but (like with many of this years prospects) I'm not going to be all that sad if we don't pick him up. He's a good pick, like many others, but I don't think he's a can't miss guy. I would be just as happy if we can grab one of Honka, McKeown or DeAngelo. All three of them have top 4 potential. Either way, I can't wait for the draft.

If we got that deal, I would hope one of Draisaitl or Dal Colle falls to 6th and take them. I think Fluery will still be available at 10th. If not take one of Virtanen, Nylander or Ehlers. Then with the Ducks original pick, I would take Thatcher Demko to stock up the goalie position. I don't think Demko makes it past NJD at 30th. This draft is pretty much a cr@p shoot after the first 3 picks. Here are two scouts from nhl.com who did a mock draft on Tuesday. Case in point, the WCS has Ritchie going 17th to the Flyers, while the ECS has him going 5th to the Flames. I think you could see a lot of moving picks at the draft. Some teams will want to grab someone specific, while others will rather stock pile picks and go BPA. I don't watch a lot of junior hockey, but this surprises me. I though Bennett was more of a pure offensive player, but being voted 3rd best defensive forward is some pretty good praise. Wonder if that bumps him up over Reinhart?
