No, unfortunately we're screwed. 7 reported cases in BC, inbound flights from China still going. Italy, Autrria, Spain all closing rails. Our response? A sign at the airport.
wait what 7 cases in BC or Canada?

He is definitely improving on a game by game basis, like Hughes, despite the fact that he suffered a concussion earlier this year. Also doesn't help that he plays on the Sabres who have have 1 guy offensively and are poorly run. I think if Dahlin was with us he'd have almost similar production and deployment.
Personally I see Dahlin a lot like I see Petey. Elite players already but the ceiling and potential is scary. Hughes is like Kane in this regard. Hughes may end up being one of or maybe the best at what he does but there's only so much he can improve at like Kane.
On top of that Dahlin can do things Hughes can being 5 inches bigger, perhaps not as good but still. Being a bigger player is definitely more difficult to bob and weave and be shifty with the puck, especially as a defenseman but Dahlin has that talent and it says a lot. Small elite skating-offensive defenders have that advantage of being able make plays in tight better than anyone 6'3'' can make. So Hughes will be better in that regard and perhaps offensively because he has that advantage over Dahlin but that doesn't discount the fact that Dahlin is also amazing offensively for a big guy and with the puck. Probably one of the best 6'+ puck handling defenseman in the league. Dahlin with time has the potential be able to match up with the best of them and improve PK blocking shot, hitting. There's no part of the game where he could not improve which is a luxury Hughes doesn't have due to his size.
So my point/speculation is Hughes will likely be better at what he does than Dahlin but Dahlin is probably going to be great in more aspects and bring more to the table or at least has the potential to.
It's the rookie and sophomore years for these guys so it is way to early to be definitive about anything yet but that's how I personally feel about it.
I think we can agree that we're probably not gonna agree about it though
Hughes is better offensively
Hughes is also better defensively.
this is the most important fact to me. Dhalin can have 300 more hits then Hughes I don't care about that.

March 1 to April 30. I think the only way they meet is if they both go the the finals. While Pod's team has a decent shot at getting there, Tram is on a much weaker team.
Pod's teams is Putins team. They will always have a chance. Think Boston Bruins, but instead of the refs having their back its the government that has their back.

What advanced stats are you using. Last time I checked they were next to identical.

SAT 50.3 vs 53.0
isat/60 9.16 vs 9.47
ozone start 58.3 vs 61.5
quinn averages more TOI including pp TOI
dahlin average 50 seconds more SH TOI/game
Dahlin leads his D draft class with 62 hits. Quinn has a total of 6.
Dahlin averages 2.43 blocked shots per game, Hughes only 1.65.
give aways Dahlin averages 2.13/game, Hughes is 2.58/gametake aways Dahlin is .79/game, Hughes is 1.42
Dahlin has .71 p/gp, Hughes has 0.82p/gp.
yeah Dahlin just doesn’t have the same potential..... he’s making nhl history but just doesn’t have the same potential.
still nope. but its close though, for sure. He will be a star, but I don't see him as Generational as some people say he is. His defensive side of the game is not as polished as Heiskanen or even Hughes at this point.

a 1st rounder for ? Barclay Goodrow
a 1st 2nd and a 3rd for Jean-Gabriel Pageau whois literally been a 3rd line player his entire career, I am not kidding, sure Islanders locked him up, but Benning is looking real good now with the JT Miller trade, if you look around at the trades that involved a 1st rounder.
add to the fact he didn't even give up a 1st rounder for Toffoli,
win.

this is it. the next 4 weeks is pretty determining our fate. I know demko is good, and this is a chance for him to see if he can handle the load of a number 1 for the next month in crunch time. I really do wish we at least were able to add another dman, I swear, but oh well.

I know he was with the lightning but damn 21 wins 5 losses...

I wouldn't trade Hughes straight up even for Rasmus Dahlin...
I wouldn't either. Advanced Stats Hughes destroys Dhalin, and he is actually rather overrated.

Boston Bruins @ Vancouver Canucks, 2020-02-22
according to this, Quinn Hughes had the highest amount of ice time against Begeron, Pastanark and Marchands line last night in the games against the Bruins. despite Edler being the big minute man in that game, it was Quinn Hughes and the Tanev pairing tasked to play against the Bergeron line. The NHL's best teams top line. Quinn Hughes had the most ice time against the the NHLs best teams 1st line in 5v5 game time. in this game no dman spent more 5v5 time against Bergeron, Pastnarak rat face line
Minnesota Wild @ Vancouver Canucks, 2020-02-19
according to this, Quinn Hughes a long with Chris Tanev had the highest amount of 5v5 ice time against against Staal Fiala and Parise who represents the Wild top 3 scorers. Hughes also had the most ice time against Sutter, who is the Wilds 4th highest point getter. 5v5 ice time only
Anaheim Ducks @ Vancouver Canucks, 2020-02-16
according to this, Quinn Hughes had the most 5v5 ice time against out of all Canuck players against Getzlaf and Rackell. these 2 guys represent the Ducks top point getter. Quinn Hughes once again tasked with the most ice time against another teams top players. In this particular game Max Jones was the 2nd highest minute guy hes seen the most since Silverberg is suppose to be the 3rd highest point getter for the Ducks. Jones tasked for top line minutes in that game?
Chicago Blackhawks @ Vancouver Canucks, 2020-02-12
according to this, Quinn Hughes did not have the highest amount of ice time against Chicago's top line, that went too Chris Tanev in terms of 5v5 ice time. This will be against Patrick Kane, Quinn Tanev out of all Canuck players had the most 5v5 time against Patrick Kane and his line, while Quinn Hughes would score in 2nd most ice time against Kane. Edler 5v5 ice time saw Johathan Toews the most. I will assume Toews and Kane were on seperate lines. Quinn Hughes line combo tasked again to play against another teams top leading point getter.
Nashville Predators @ Vancouver Canucks, 2020-02-10
according to this Hughes did not have the most 5v5 ice time against preds top players, he was more like 3rd in ice time, but off by 30 seconds, as Edler and Tanev lead the team in 5v5 ice time against Predators top players. Either way most of Hughes ice time was against Matt Duchene and Mikael Granlund. in this game we had a big lead so I will assume Travis green was just cycling through the lines leisurely .
Edmonton Oilers @ Vancouver Canucks, 2019-12-01
this game is dated back in December 1st against the Oilers, and he had the most ice time against the McJesus line 5v5. I believe this game was actually the coming out party of Hughes actually being used to match up against another teams top line. Not that he didn't play against another teams top line previously. in this game, even strength ice time, Hughes had to face the best player in the NHL the most out of all his linemates.
Vancouver Canucks @ Buffalo Sabres, 2020-01-11
this is the most recent games against the Buffalo Sabres. Quinn Hughes had the highest amount of ice time against Eichel and Reinhart out of all Canuck players. even strength ice time. Jack Eichel and Reinhart are Sabres top scorers.
Either way, Quinn Hughes have been playing non sheltered minutes for a very long time. He is not our minute eating player, but majority of ice ice time is against another teams top players and it's been this case for a long time now. In the 7 examples I've provided Quinn Hughes had the most even strength ice time against another teams top scorers. If you don't believe look at it for yourself. I don't talk smack, I don't spread false headlines or try to pimp anyone. the numbers are there for you to look at.

I'd put Hughes as 2nd.
He's just &^@#ing unreal. Kid's a one man zone clearing / gaining machine. His speed and awareness, coupled with his insanely accurate passing and ability to read the play has completely changed the teams ability to create offense.
Miller is great, but hasn't changed the face of the franchise like Quinn has.
Hughes getting a ton of points that is converted by Miller too, but yea, its so close for number 2, maybe by game 82 lets see how many points each player finishes with.

Our NHL all star
Jacob Markstrom. There isn't much more we can ask him to do, we can't.
Miller is 2nd.
Pettersson has been great too despite being focused more on

I think we should try trade him for a draft pick, played decent for us but we have lots of lefties in the minors plus Tryamkin so....why not try to scoop up a draft pick for him!?
I rather trade Stetcher at this point since he is 4 times the price of Fantenberg and quite fankly I like his play more.
brock boeser promises Clay Imoo he will be back before the end of the regular season.
notice I didn't say before the playoffs because that will jink things? yea? cupiscoming I am talking to you.

Forward-wise we probably don't see anybody new save for FAs and Mac. Need some legit gritty players.
Defense we're gonna see Rafferty in top 6
Lind will probably be like Mac next season and be the first call-up
I think the Canucks still see Lind as if he was a 1st rounder, as quoted in my signature, he would have only said that if they think Lind should have went in round 1.

long time Canuck fan here, Jim Benning has built up a strong enough prospect pool to be able to tradee
Madden
1st rounder 2nd rounder 3rd rounder
for
Jt Miller and Tyler Toffoli although Toffoli is a pending ufa and might be a rental, I am ok with this trade, I can also live without the trade, since its a 2nd rounder.

JT Miller
for coleman and Goodrow, Marek Mazanec,.
They didn't even get a top 6 foward or a top 4 dman in return. Coleman is a good grinder but still a hefty price to pay, my gosh they did bad, Toffoli worth more then Coleman and goodrow combined.
