  1. Love the emotion Moreno plays with. But those were some huge ass waterfall tears!!! Don't know what he was thinking about to get so emotional and to discharge like that.
  2. I posted this awhile back though probably nobody saw it. He had a sex orgy that was caught on tape with like 3 women that is currently being shopped around according to TMZ. http://www.tmz.com/2013/11/12/trent-richardson-sex-tape-indianapolis-colts/ I guess it's hard to play when you have that in the back of your head. What I see from Foles is he is smart enough to read the defence and understand how to execute the offence and go through his progressions properly. All he is doing is letting the system work for itself. He doesn't have to be specatular all he has to do is execute and don't have turnovers and just make sure to get the ball in the playmaker's hands at the appropriate time. Apparently Foles was a point guard on his high school basketball team so he is very cofortable seeing the field and taking what the defence gives without forcing anything and distributing the ball where it needs to go. He is getting everyone involved right now using the Wr's, Rb and TE even now. I don't know if he is a franchise quarterback time will tell. He will be the starter next year though if he continues his play and especially if he gets the Eagles in the playoffs. I suspect Vick will get released in the off-season and go to a team like the Vikings where he could pair with Peterson and form a lethal rushing attack. Foles is far from elite though. Defences will adjust to him next year as well as the Chip Kelly offence once they get time to pour over the tape in the off-season. The Eagles will have to adjust. Foles will have to as well. But what I like is that he is already reading the blitz much better than Michael Vick ever does who is a veteran. He apparently studies tons of film that ability to keep improving and being hungry to learn is great from a young qb. He has showed encouraging signs but is far from a finished or polished product.
  3. What seriously? I thought he was gonna be a major factor down the stretch and in the playoffs? They are probably being extra cautious. I think he plays vs the 49ers next week. Crabtree is supposed to be back but will probably be limited just like Harvin.
  4. That's total b.s.!! I thought it was just a Telus Optik thing but apparently not. What is the point of six different channels if you put the same damn game on all of them. Frack sakes. Was looking forward to watching the Eagles game now gonna have to settle for the Canucks game in the morning and then Denver vs KC at 1:00.
  5. That's strange Bernard Pierce has a similar yards per carry as Rice does he not? The announcers on Sunday Night were talking about Michael Oher really struggling the whole year and that he was a free agent at the end of the season and wouldn't be brought back. I would think by that it is an o-line thing. They changed up the blocking scheme when they hired Juan Castillo who was an assistant o-line coach with the Eagles as well as the d-coordinator once upon a time not too long ago. That may have something to do with it.
  6. Running game seems to be struggling though O-line can't seem to open up the holes for the backs it seems. Ravens have a good defence but they need that running game so that are not one dimensional if they get in the playoffs.
  7. Pacific Coast Party Baby

  8. He got away with one there. Judging from his smirk after the fact looking at the replays. I think Jones would have been gone and broken the tackle had he kept blazing down the sidelines. It wasn't much but at high speed it made Jones change his angle and helped the guy chasing him track him down. If anything he saw the coach was on the field he should have purposely ran into him to draw a flag. I believe they can award a touchdown if they deem the interference to be intentional. That game had a playoff intensity. That's what I love about the NFL that trumps any other sports league. Every game matters you can't take a game off and half ass it. It's not just one of 82 or whatever. You gotta bring it every week because the playoffs are no guarantee.
  9. Steelers vs Ravens games are always epic. I can't wait for the Seahwaks vs 49ers next week. Should be another exteremly physical game. Seahawks without Browner and Thurmond leaves an opening for the 49ers to exploit. Also does anybody know why the Denver vs KC game was not flexed to the Sunday nighter? Who is gonna watch Giants and Redskins. The flex is in effect is it not? Or is there limit. C'mon Man!!! Oh well at the very least the Monday night game will be good. Will be interesting to see who covers Graham for Seattle and if that opens up Colston from Sherman.
  10. Tough game for Eagles. Arizona d is good. Patrick Peterson will probably lock down Desean Jackson by getting physical at the line so he can't release. Arizona run d is good too. Will have to use McCoy out of the backfield and slow them down with misdirection and screens to keep them off balance. Oh yeah their pass game is pretty good too. Palmer has been hot of late and he has Fitzgerald plus Floyd now to throw to. Mr. Crabtree is back for the 49ers this week. Now to see if he is 80% of his former self. Seattle lost Browner for the year and Thurmond is out one week before the playoffs. 49ers actually have a good chance to win at home vs Seattle next week. Should be interesting to see who makes a bigger impact between Harvin and Crabtree for their respective teams when they clash.
  11. This trade makes so much sense for both teams it would be a shame if this did not happen. Both need a fresh start. Erat is familiar to the west and is still a decent play-making winger who can finish. Booth will get a chance to go back to the east and give Washington another bigger bodied player who can crash the net for rebounds and will have more space to skate with in the more wide open east. David Booth plus a conditional mid round pick seems very fair for Erat. If he performs well the Canucks sweeten the deal by turning the 5th rounder to a 4th or maybe third. Booth getting a chance to play all of a sudden seems very peculiar. They could be showcasing him in this next stretch of games and could have been what the conversation Torts and Booth had was about.
  12. What's going on no more TEE ESS ENN?!!!

  13. I compare Romo to Roethlisberger. Both guys improvise and like to hold on to the ball don't always make the smart decision. The difference is Roethlisberger for much of his time had a better defence and overall talent around him which helped him to win. You still have to give him credit though Big Ben has clutched up and Romo hasn't.
  14. Can't believe Denver lost. With Moreno absolutely shredding the Patriots defense. This doesn't put an end to the questions of Denver being able to win in cold weather. Granted this wasn't against Seattle's defence but Denver showed they can get by with their receivers locked down the whole game and pass game being almost non-exsistant. That Patriots had 2 safeties deep pretty much the whole game and Moreno took advantage of that. Manning not be able to throw and with his receivers not able to get open just kept giving it Moreno because he was averaging almost 6 yards a carry every time he got it.
  15. Terrible game. Probably the worst Grey Cup in 10 years. Not even competitive. Burris was who everyone though he was. Woefully inconsistent plays one good game and then gets rattled in Regina in the biggest game of them all. Hamilton just handed the cup to Saskatchewan thanks to Burris in the first half alone.
  16. I wouldn't take that contract for the term but the cap sure. I was talking about the fact Ehrhoff would have signed if he got the same deal as Edler. But he wasn't offered despite proving he is a top offensive d-man. I'm sure he would have taken the 5 mil if it were offered to him to play on a contender over the long term vs stuck on a terrible team in Buffalo. Garrison and Hamhuis especially turned down more money from Pittsburgh to sign with the Canucks a big reason was because it was close to home. Hamhuis even said that along with the organization treating it's players well. For Garrison it was because it was close to home and his good buddy Raymond was on the team. Yeah Santorelli I will give you that but I'm sure a team like a Nashville or Carolina could have signed him but he went with the Canucks offer because it was close to home too. That winning culture crap is b.s. Name me one free agent the Canucks have got that wanted to specifically come here because of the culture? Other teams seem to do fine making trades. Why do you think Burke pulls of great deals the majority of times in trades? It is because of the old boy's club mentality that exists within the GM club. Gills has pissed off a couple of really good trade partners especially being an ex agent and coming in and offer sheeting guys. There have been many guy's that the Canucks have been in Gillis said they were trying to land that they didn't. Clowe comes to mind just last year. They settled with Roy just to show that they were trying to the fans. Also about Malhotra, Torres, etc and all the guys you talked about being key parts of the cup run are gone with the exception of Higgins who was from Florida. So how smart is Gillis really for letting Torres walk because he didn't want to give him a 2 year deal as well as losign all those other "key" guys? The only thing Gillis has is gigantic crush on the Red Wings and he said he would copy the Detroit model. Now he is copying L.A. to try to get bigger and tougher.. who is next? The Canucks don't seem to know what their identity is thanks to Gillis. Maybe you can elighten us all because you seem to have all the clues right genius?
  17. The Canucks need to abandon following the "Detroit model" crap or an other team. They don't have prospects or scouting and development to find and develop them. The only team that is similar to the Canucks situation is the Sharks. Look how they have retooled over the years and added some freshness to a stale aging core group with guys like Wingels, Nieto, and of course Hertl. The Canucks desperately need some young players specifically to come in and contribute right away next season. Either Shinkaruk or Horvat needs to be a regular on the team next year and contribute signifcantly if they are going to go anywhere. Ideally both would be in the top six next year but that is not realistic. Jensen and Schroeder need to step up as well they don't have time to wait.
  18. It's simple why Gilis can't make trades. It is one of two reasons or both. He could be clueless other than signing/trading for depth guys and negotiating contracts he does not know how to make a major player acquisition via free agency or trade. His best move by far was stealing Ehrhoff from the Sharks but he pissed him away because he didn't want to pay him more than the Canucks "internal salary cap of less than 5 mil for each d-man" even though Edler ended up getting 5 mil now. Wouldn't you rather have Ehrhoff over Edler right now? I'm sure the power play would take Ehrhoff right now. Second he is hated by many GM's like Burke,Nonis, Davidson in CBJ, etc being an ex-agent and coming off as an arrogant schmuck at times. The only deals that he makes are when they other team he is dealing with feel like they are getting the better of him (see Tallon in Florida) Outside of a couple of one off deals the majority of his deals and signings have come from Florida and Tallon who he keeps going to the well with like a punch drunk buffoon. Even his big signings like Santorelli,Garrison, and Hamhuis only happended because they wanted to play close to home. Not my some convincing that Gillis had done. When he first took the job he promised that he would change Vancouver into a destination for free agents where they wanted to come themselves. Instead he has been handing out no trade clauses left and right worrying about not offending his players and not being able to cut them out before it's too late.
  19. Part of the problem to me seems like everyone on this d-core is too similar. They can do a number of things pretty decently but are not great in one area. Since the Canucks lost Ehrhoff they don't have a legit offensive d-man anymore who can help carry the puck up ice and key the transition game as well as qb the pp where the Canucks use to get probably 40 percent of their goal output from. Keith Yandle would look really nice in a Canucks jersey had the Canucks not given Edler a no-trade clause. He would spark the Canucks dormant power play as well as helping contribute offence 5-on-5 and rushing the puck and making passes to help ignite the forwards a bit. Especially in this system with his outstanding skating ability Yandle would thrive and would easily get 50 points or more playing with the Sedins on the regular and power play. This does not excuse the lack of finishing ability of the forwards and lack of offensive skill in general. But they are working hard to create chances. The Canucks don't have any player who is good 1-on-1 and can create offence on their own or who can be a one shot scorer. Kesler used to be the guy in his fluke 40 goal season when his wrist shot was going in from everywhere but teams adjusted to that. Kesler can still score but his game is more about 2-way play and shutdown ability same with Burrows. To me the Canucks ouside of the Sedins and Kesler I see a team full of third and 4th line forwards. Don't get me wrong they work hard but just don't have the skill to finish and make plays. They are more than willing but not able that's just the truth.
  20. This team is trying their best. They just can't score goals they don't have the personnel. You can't expect your goalie to be perfect every game against a good team. Too much pressure to put on the goalie and defence to help chip in with offence when the crappy forwards can't score.

    1. King Heffy

      King Heffy

No but I expect the goalie to not give up a soft goal 9 seconds after the game tying goal.

^ I agree but at some point the forwards need to be blamed for their lack of finish instead of saying the goalies need to be better or the defence has to chip in with a goal each game.

  21. Good 4th liner would have been an upgrade over Weise or Sestitio.
  22. I wouldn't crown the must yet. If the 49ers finally get healthy they should offer a diff test if Crabtree gets back. He has the potential to be a X factor like Harvin. The problem with Denver is the defense I don't see them beating Seatlle in cold weather in New York despite how good the offense is. Would be a classic offense vs defense matchup in the super bowl though. Great defense almost always beats great offense though.
  23. CJ Gable is the X factor for Hamilton. They need to have him involved in the running and passing game. He could have a impact on the game in a big way positive or negative. Also Brandon Banks will be huge if he can rip off some big returns to set up the offence. I still don't know how Hamilton managed to pull one out on the road last week. Can they do it two weeks in a row? It will play in their favor if the weather is cold, snowy, and slippery. That should even the playing field. If they contain Sheets they can focus on pressuring Durant into some interceptions. The key will be Burris they need to get out to a lead and keep the crowd quiet because it will be really tough to come back if they get down early and spot the riders a quick lead and the crowd really gets into it. Burris will have to have a great mistake free game if Hamilton is too have a chance to pull off another upset. At the end of the day let's just hope it is a competitive game and Hamilton doesn't bend over and hand the Riders the cup. Go Tiger Cats.
