  1. Just go read this guys rant before they close it https://hfboards.mandatory.com/threads/when-will-the-oilers-become-serious-about-winning.2824835/
  2. I totally forgot about this one The Vancouver Canucks GM was fined $50,000 by the league on Tuesday for tampering. The charges stem from comments Benning made on the radio last week about Stamkos, and Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban. Benning made comments about his desire to pursue Stamkos on Thursday -- two days before teams are permitted to start discussions with unrestricted free agents. Teams and their executives are not allowed to publicly discuss players under contract with other teams. "Last week I was trying to be candid with our fans and media about out efforts to improve our team but said too much about players on other teams," Benning said in a statement released by the Canucks. "I have spoken personally to the NHL and the general managers involved to apologize and I accept the league's ruling." Benning also said in the radio interview that he had discussed Subban with Canadiens GM Marc Bergevin. Bergegvin said Benning's comments "crossed the line."
  3. He's definitely asleep half the time, or just plain out lost not sure which one yet. That's probably true to an extent, but there was an insider rumor a couple years ago they almost moved Virtanen at the trade deadline but it never amounted to anything. Benning saw a glimpse of what he drafted last year in the playoffs, and hoped it would continue, but the situation with the coach and Jake is never going to fix itself, Green should of been gone half way through the season this year, but he's still here and Virtanen just can't be here, the two don't work.
  4. Let's just add Bennings quote on Loui Eriksson as well while we're at it Benning on Eriksson "He's a guy that keeps himself in really good shape physically," Benning said. "He's long (6-foot-2, 183 pounds) and his skill set, his hands, his ability to make plays in tight spaces has always been very good. We just feel like it's a good fit for him with our group. We need to add scoring to our group and he's going to do that."
  5. Benning a few years ago said they needed to get bigger and stronger after watching St. Louis win the cup over Boston, so they go and get Ferlund, Benn and Myers. Only one of them plays now for Canucks, but now we need to get more skill and talent..... How did that change? How come he doesn't think he has enough talent already, but has enough stronger bigger guys for playoffs? Are these Canucks really that talentless he needs to go find more?
  6. I know you didn't say why, but you said once he was gone it became at least marginally more important to sign Jake, You're saying it was important for them to sign Jake after letting Toffoli just walk, because that's what they did let him walk, just like Tanev, just like Markstrom even after spending the years to turn him into a tradable piece just let him walk and get nothing, trade pieces for Toffoli and let him walk get nothing. It's being run horribly it's too bad many others can't see it unfortunately.
  7. Nonsense.. You're drinking the kool-aid as well, Toffoli is QUOTED saying this already, wake up and smell the roses. "I got hurt in the bubble, and the series against Vegas didn’t quite go our way last summer, but it seemed like the start of something special out there. And I just felt like I really fit in with that group off the ice. Everything was easy,” he said. “That’s why I wanted to come back to Vancouver. I could have seen myself finishing out my career there. But hockey is a business; I understand that. And at the end of the day, there was no offer from the Canucks’ end, so we had to go another direction. It was disappointing, but I knew that there was going to be a team out there that wanted me and saw me for the player I know I am.”
  8. Toffoli was gone because Canucks never bothered to contact him.... Why is this so hard to comprehend.....
  9. Chuck Norris just doesn't care anymore, the gloves are off for good, no more holding back, going to be blunt about everything and if that pisses you off then go ahead and click that ignore button, because Chuck isn't stopping.

  10. What you said and are implying is that the Canucks ran out of time with Toffoli because he was already gone and it was a no brainer to sign Virtanen after. How is that not related, why is that so hard for you to understand? They never bothered to contact Toffoli for a new contract at all that means he wasn't in their plans at all, and were banking on resigning Virtanen instead because they thought they saw a glimpse of what he could become in the playoffs. And the fact there are some posters on here like the one who gives the sad emoji all the time, who continues to drink the kool-aid, who can't stand any criticism of anything of this team and if it doesn't fit his fairy tale narrative, he will go and span emoji everything you write, some people just never change here
  11. How are they going to resign Toffoli in the first place when they don't even bother to have a discussion with him on a contract in the first place....
  12. Yeah just like how Edler and his big zero goals this year really helped this team make it to the playoffs again , hopefully he continues to jump up into the rush and do nothing and be to slow to get back and continue to watch other teams players burn him and leave the goalie left to dry for 2 on 1 more, so exciting can't wait
  13. Defense was a fail from the get go when a guy like Edler is back but a guy like Tanev just walks, that's just ridiculous.
  14. Weird Green starts him on the 3rd line this year he doesn't do anything and all of a sudden he's now in a top 6 role..... He didn't earn it so why was he put there?
  15. You got to be kidding me? The guy they didn't bother to talk to at all about a contract extension signed before Virtanen and that's what makes you not think Virtanen was signed over Toffoli, this kool-aid you're drinking is bad.
  16. It's obvious after the playoffs last year Benning saw a top 6 role for him hence the resigning over Toffoli, then season started and Green had him on 3rd line again, had Gaudette playing the PP over him, Green just couldn't let this hate for Virtanen go away but right there is when Virtanen imo said forget this anymore I'm just going to glide this contract out. What's funny all of a sudden Virtanen got bumped up to top 6 my gut is telling me Benning said something to Green and they gave him the bump, but by this time Virtanen had already given up when he was in that top 6 role this year he just didn't look like her cared anymore, until around the time leading up to the trade deadline time, I believe his agent talked to him and had him step up his game to help maybe move him, but nothing obviously happened the Bennett trade never happened. We saw some glimpses of him driving hard to the net and generate some chances, and scored a couple to help him get moved hopefully, but since he never got moved it was back to not caring, then covid and then legal issues, basically done.
  17. A good top 9 who in your eyes has conditioning and legal issues now lol okay keep drinking that kool-aid
  18. But you support Benning, and say this guy has dropped the ball in the top 6 frequently, so why did Benning resign him? The guy you support, resigned this guy why resign a guy who drops the ball in that role all the time?
  19. A couple years ago actually before covid seasons, when he was given the opportunity to play in a top 6 role I believe someone was injured, he was actually doing well, but then Green decided to demote him again for some bizarre reason when he was clicking with Horvat, and it has been downhill ever since then, you could see it in Virtanens game this year he just doesn't care anymore I'll even add I guess big Jim saw improvements in him to give him a raise and an extension
  20. The amount of games this team has been outshot season after season and even after being outshot in those games they have also accumulated more blocked shots then the other team as well in those games, how is that not a defensive style of game... If you're constantly being outshot in most games and relying on your goalie to keep you in the games, where's the offensive style....
  21. I think it was 2 years ago and the rumor was Virtanen actually did work out in the summer got into decent shape came to camp looking good, even reporters recognized he looked leaner and stronger, then Green couple days later is scratching him because he's supposedly out of shape, wait what... Greens a clown, he's just had a hard on for Virtanen since day one, and imo ruined Virtanen it was obvious this year watching Virtanen he just doesn't care anymore, he got a new contract and decided I'm going to not care anymore, because he's done with Green and unfortunately as long as Green is still here Virtanen does need to be gone he doesn't care to play under Green anymore. And with the other crap that is going on with him now, he won't be back anyways, but it's to bad because there definitely was potential there in him if he was only coached to improve his strengths he already had instead of neglecting them and trying to turn him into a different player they never drafted for.
