This is exciting news. While I think it’s great for all Canucks prospects, I really hope Danila benefits the most from working with the Sedins and Samuelsson. -

Russian hockey vlogger Cherkas Atlant travelled this season through various NHL cities that have Russian players and created long episodes about them. A few days ago he released first episode about Vancouver Canucks and Podkolzin. Unfortunately, there are no English subtitles for it and with it being almost 2.5 hours, it'll take a long time to translate. But Vasiliy proved again his great character, praising Vancouver as a city to live in, Boudreau as a great coach, knowing the things he needs to work on. You are absolutely right. Danila is absolutely fine after not playing in the playoff games.

It is possible that they were trying to play some sort of game to get some money out of the situation, but based on my discussions with Danila's father, it was a very real possibility.

Ok, let me say again what has been said several times earlier in this thread - there was no real chance of him playing in Quebec. Belarus hockey federation would not have released his transfer documents for him to play in the Major Junior. He’s on the Belarus National Team list and they would have used that attempt to assign him to Canadian Major Junior to bring him back to Belarus instead. That definitely would not have helped his development.

Based on my conversations with both Vasily and Danila, Podz is going to play in Abbotsford playoffs. -
Met Arthur today (Danila and him came to cheer for my team at the Volleyball Provincials at TRADEX). Very nice kid, very open, polite. Hope to see him in the net on May 4th in the playoffs.

These pants were bought in Vancouver in September. They were short on purpose (by design). He has indeed grown, though. He's a little taller than me now (I'm just standing closer to the camera).

Podkolzin is a bit shorter than Danila, but they are both built like bulls. He’s definitely a bit shorter than me. Danila is 6’2”, Vasily is about 6’-6’1”
