  1. He has no issue with confidence, Podkolzin or not. The kid has a very good attitude and good head on his shoulders.
  2. Merry Christmas, brother! Thank you for the kind words!
  3. IF he was signed, he wouldn’t be playing in NCAA…
  4. No wonder it came out of Chara’s mouth. His last name is pronounced as “Chara” only in English. In Slovakian and any other Slavic language his last name is pronounced as “Khara”. And here’s a caveat - in Hebrew and in Arabic the word “khara” means “shit”. I guess now we know why lol.
  5. Well, did they take into account that this was a Ukrainian boy hitting a russian over the head? Lol
  6. NHL Stats should know better or at least put "in a regular season" disclaimer to this fact. How did the forget about this beauty 10 seconds into game 2 of 2011 SCF?
  7. Huh, some of the things Dan Milstein said are exactly what I've been saying around here :-). Before anyone asks - I am not Dan Milstein :-). The only thing in common for both of us is that we are both Jewish and both were born in Ukraine :-).
  8. I'm not sure how I feel about his nickname...
  9. I'm replying specifically to you because of our conversation in another thread but it applies to the overall thread. For the 24-25 season, I really hope Klimovich is ready to step in on a still cheap contract, so trading Garland should be definitely an option if that happens.
  10. He’s listening to what he’s being told by Sedins, not by me . I can help out with day-to-day questions about life in Canada, not on ice things.
  11. They do communicate, don’t get me wrong. But Danila’s English is already much better. Danila is closest with Silovs and Lockwood.
  12. They are just not as close as everyone seems to think. There are no problems between them, so don't overthink it. Having Podkolzin assigned to Abbotsford has the same affect on Danila if someone like Hoglander was assigned to Abbotsford, that's all.
  13. Bud, I never argued with you about the past. I’m talking about potentially changed approach only this season and asking to wait to pass judgement. It’s easy to criticize.
  14. I will never claim that the plan is 100% correct until we see the results as expected by the plan. What I’m trying to say is that we are all unhappy with the previous player development results (I agree with @Warhippyon that, no question). However, what we see now with Danila is an entirely new approach. Henrik and Daniel are just starting to work on the player development and seem to be using new approaches. I think we all need to give them some time to see whether this new approach works. The research that I brought is a real one. I’m not sure whether the Sedins are using similar approach with Danila. What I do know for sure is that when he’s not playing - he’s watching the game sitting next to the Sedins and they dissect the game as it goes on. They have some sort of internal point system of things he has to do when he plays and they calculate these points after every game. That all sounds like a new approach to me.
  15. So, you choose to ignore the fact that there was a serious research into the matter? Just because you are used to specific form of development?
  16. So, on one hand we praise Sedins, but when it doesn’t fit the narrative we make sassy comments about “the plan”? Can we just all relax and just see what these guys can do in player development? Now, perhaps it’s not related to hockey, but I am a former volleyball player and now coach club volleyball. As part of this, I follow variety of researches on the best training techniques. A few years ago, a group of researchers analyzed 2 different approaches to training - one team only did on court practices all season long, while the second team did on court practice 50% of the time and video watching and analysis the other 50% (total practice time was the same between the 2 teams). At the end, through a series of complex stats taking, the team that did 50/50 split showed much more significant improvement in skill development. I’m not saying that Sedins follow the same concept with Danila, but the fact that such research exists makes you think twice before making sassy comments.
  17. Belarussian hockey federation would not release his transfer papers if he was assigned to CHL last season because he is a member of Belarus National team and in their mind, CHL is too low of a league for him and they’d rather him play in KHL for Dynamo Minsk. Also, sometimes reading the full conversation helps with obtaining information, you know?
  18. They couldn't. Read the thread...
  19. It looks a lot like a Photoshop. Which is exactly what this is :-).
  20. Damn, how did they make me look like Don Taylor? lol
  21. I'm talking specifically about Danila, knowing the exact plan the organization currently has for him and people working with him. Can the plan change and him becoming a trade option? Sure, everyone can become one. However, playing percentages, at this point it's highly unlikely.
  22. He is actually a very positive player. Perhaps you mean he has a negative plus/minus stat. That’s not a “negative player” though.
  23. Guys, stop overreacting. It seems like it started with that Twitter-head making his own assumptions as to what Collitton actually said and then continued with the “healthy scratch”. Danila is under personal wing of the Sedins. They have a plan for him and special internal scoring system that they review with him after each game. They are happy with his progress. Don’t read into anything else. He’s doing exactly what he’s being asked to do by the Sedins at this point.
