Danila is not going back to Belarus. Plans are in place for him to stay in North America to train in the off-season.

No, I’m not a translator. When Danila was drafted, I went to his Instagram page and wrote in Russian to welcome him to Vancouver and offered any help if he needs it when he gets here. His Dad followed me on Insta and we started talking. When Danila moved here last year, we’ve met and I helped him out with some logistical things. It went from there.

I’m sick and tired of everyone in Vancouver media pronouncing Danila’s last name incorrectly. The stress is on the second syllable, it should be pronounced “KlimOvich”.

Yes, I do. Tampa traded that pick to the Devils for Blake Coleman and Devils ended up selecting Shakir Mukhamadullin, who was projected to go deep in the 2nd round. Still plays in KHL at the moment.

Sorry, we didn't give up high 1st round pick. It was conditional and we ended up giving up a 1st round the year of the bubble playoffs (second round for us). It ended up being 20th overall pick - by no means "high".
