I was listening to an ex special forces guy talk about the police problem. I think he hit the nail on the head and I support his idea. He said that in the army. You spend 90% of your time training, and 10% ‘active duty’. Where as cops do their training at the start of their careers, and with a few minor exceptions have basically no more training after they’ve received their badges and sent to the street. He suggested having police spend 10% of the year, roughly a month every year, training. New techniques, new tools, new strategies etc. I think it’s a great idea. It really doesn’t make a lot of sense to have a person spend a few months training for a decades long career without having to constantly update their strategy. Anyway I thought he made some good points and it’s maybe something to consider.

They actually did call an ambulance. The officer’s offered to put him in the car with the windows down, they offered to put him in with the air conditioning on, he was completely hysterical tho, and unfortunately things went the way they did. If you watch the full body cam footage two things are clear, one, the cops were not ‘looking to kill a black man that day’ they actually tried quiet hard to settle the situation. And two, Floyd was completely out of his head.
