dont be a dummy like I was if you are going rent a place make sure the landlord gives you a 'pre-rental damage check list' and you take photos of any damages prior to moving in or else you get screwed over
I lost my damage deposit because of blinds that were already wrecked before I even moved in. it also took them two months to tell me this dont trust anyone. document damages.-
People are telling me to fight it and stuff but it doesn't seem like it's worth the stress and I don't think I could actually win anyways... we did document the ant infestion that is part of the reason I moved out early. Lucky for me I had someone who loved me and who I was able to move in with so I don't have to worry bout things.

I was stupid and didn't do a check list, didn't do photos before hand. I did do some damages (broke part of the sink somehow) so I don't mind losing the damage part but my pet did nothing and they are keeping my pet deposit which I believe is against the law. They claim the cost of the damages exceeds both the deposits and are citing the blinds and damage to the bathroom floor that was caused by a flood from their bathroom! I have no proof I or my cat didn't damage the bli...
