  1. You give them too much credit. I don't most of the team care enough to cheat. They're just happy they're collecting an NHL paycheque, and it shows in their play.
  2. They never help the Sabres. NHL refs, like the NFL variety, are just incompetent. The Canucks calls are legit, but they've missed at least 2 against the Sabres.
  3. No it has nothing to do with being against them. It's just that I'm a realist who isn't a giant homer for either of my teams. The simple matter of the fact is that the Sabres are crapping away another season and are on their way to becoming Oilers East.
  4. I'm hoping I'm wrong... lol I just have no faith in Hutton or Ullmark to defend the net and the Sabres haven't been lighting it up lately.
  5. I did predict a 4-1 Canucks win in the prediction thread. So far I'm on track.
  6. He'd be fine if he'd play a little less offence and stick closer to the blue line to cover opposing team rushes out of the zone. Unfortunately he's been this way since his 2nd season in Buffalo.
  7. It's always been that way in our broadcasts. There are mics close to the ice. Adds a bit more immersion to the broadcast. I've always loved it.
  8. Because Buffalo sucks... Didn't anyone tell you that yet?
  9. He still has a home in Buffalo (Amherst) I believe. Although since he's in his early 80's he may have migrated south by now.
  10. Fortunately that's only for you dirty west coasters.
  11. Are people still sleeping? There's only about 40 people here...
  12. Russia can generate EMP's that scramble electronics on naval ships that aren't properly shielded. Since Russia decided to turn that into a fun sport, the US has put the proper shielding in all of the newest naval ships and retrofitted most of the old ones. Again, as far as the carriers are concerned, they aren't meant for Russia because an attack on Russia would end the world. Giving Russia credit on stuff isn't an issue. Facts are facts, pro or anti Russia whether anyone likes them or not. Personally I don't dislike Russia, I'm just not a big Putin fan.
  13. Problem with your reasoning. Super-carriers have never been meant to fight Russia. Any conflict inside Russia where Russia starts losing is a declared pre-condition for them to make a first-strike nuclear attack against the attacking nation(s). That policy was originally announced by the USSR then restated by Russia after the USSR's fall. Attacking Russia would trigger the end of the world. As for one of your other points, they are absolutely as important as they've always been to fight wars. Just not a war against the Russians for the reason stated above.
  14. Like I said though, he may have been referring to the dinky soviet style carriers that are still in use by a few countries. China bought and refurbished an old rusty one from a frmr. Soviet Republic a while back and last I read had plans to do the same with a second one. Eventually China will hack into a computer in the US and get the plans for the GRF super-carriers and build their own less advanced copies just like they did with the F-35 in order to make their J-31's.
  15. Not even remotely true unless you're talking about the dinky carriers that Russia and China have. A Gerald R. Ford class super-carrier can carry up to 90 aircraft, including drones, and stay at sea without needing to visit a port for months. Not to mention that they will eventually be upgraded with electron laser energy weapons and dynamic (electrically charged) armor. All that doesn't even take into consideration that US super-carriers always travel in a pack with cruisers, destroyers, frigates, and usually even submarines if it's in contested waters. True, but depending on where the jet is going it has a greater chance of being shot down by both ground weapons and enemy aircraft the longer that it's in the air. If you are launching multiple strike stealth fighters off of a super-carrier that's parked relatively close to the enemy country, you can continue to harass and bomb that country 24/7 if you choose to. In your scenario though, that's one of the things that are attractive with the F-35, it has long range radar and can fire missiles while it's still outside it's target's effective range. That is as long as it isn't malfunctioning for one reason or another.
  16. I hope so. There's even video of a missile launching from the ground and exploding on or next to the passenger plane. I even said immediately after it was posted on CDC that a plane had crashed that some hair-trigger fingered Iranian soldier likely thought it was a US warplane and launched a missile at it. It was the most obvious and likely explanation.
  17. He knows better. He and some others are just in a haze of hate that the big ol' meany USA did something that they/he didn't like. The only solution to the US needing to have bases all over the planet is for the rest of the western world to re-build it's own militaries. That way, the US can finally pull back our own forces and spend our money elsewhere and Europe and some eastern countries can defend their own backyards and decide who lives and dies. The problem is, that would take either much higher taxes in other countries and/or for social programs to be scaled back. Things like universal healthcare would then go from a right to a luxury in the countries who refuse to pay more in taxes to keep those kind of social programs.
  18. Reminds me of this scene in Happy Gilmore... *warning for those at work and you sensitive types* In the scene, there's a swear word that also means "female dog".
