Ilya Mikheyev Posted January 13, 2013 Share Posted January 13, 2013 In my opinion, sending two picks was because Carolina only wanted to save the money on Stewart - they're not a rich franchise. Westgarth was probably worth 1 4th round pick or so himself, but Stewart and the later pick were probably added as a money exchange, as L.A. currently is more of a moneymaker.
