Batmania
MG might get the applause for a no brainer top 10 pick but it was the Canuck scouts who understand players and who made the recommendation. Shinkaruk is an offensive specialist who will need to bulk up and learn how to play at both ends of the rink. At present, a huge undertaking. As for Lou, he better improve on a SP of .909 and GAA of 2.56 or we will be trying to trade that big contract next year.
Blueberries
Carolina was about to take him at 5. http://espn.go.com/b...-move-surprises It’s believed the Carolina Hurricanes, meanwhile, actually debated taking Horvat with the fifth overall pick. They took Elias Lindholm instead. Point being, before anyone carves up Vancouver for the trade, let’s see how Horvat plays out as a prospect -Pierre LeBrun
doobiedoodoo
Did Pierre Mcguire also say one team had him 4th on their list?
kirkmclean1994
I said it yesterday and I will repeat it again. I have watched Shinkaruk play at least a dozen times, he is a STEAL. Remember how as Canuck fans, myself included, always complain about the lack of intensity of our team. This kid has it and watch his face light up when he scores. Thanks Feaster!! spliced
See now this is part of the fun of actually having some decent forward prospects in the system. Glad it's finally happened, it's been a long wait.

oldnews
Agree with 70seven - when the comment was made that someone had him ranked as high as 4th - the team with the 4th pick certainly came to mind, and given the fact that Poile took Jones, it would make sense that they opted to change their plan to take Horvat and continue to feed that blueline factory of theirs. In any event, a big thank you to Feaster. I'm not going to suggest that Poirier isn't a player, but to leave us a WHL sniper like Shinkaruk for us at the 24 spot - kinda what the prospect pool Dr. ordered.
