Ilya Mikheyev
Why would Philly give up Talbot for a center who wouldn't crack their roster?
Junkyard Dog
I would not do this, that is all.
Baka
Trades should always (on paper) benefit both teams needs. This doesn't benefit Philadelphia's needs. They lose their best penalty killer and an upcoming young defender who many believe will play his way onto the roster given how hot he ended the season. In return they get two players who will likely spend the entire season as AHL players who get called up for injuries. Value wise despite some opinions here I feel Philadelphia is overpaying. Schroeder likely has the highest trade value of the 4 given his potential but I feel Lack has very little value (he is going on 26 years old this season with no NHL experience and poor AHL numbers as a back up). Talbot is basically your perfect 3rd line player (Hard working defensive efforts, plays physical, blocks shots, eats up penalty kill time, and has offensive awareness should get around 15 goals a year, plus a solid contract). While Gus is a pretty solid looking prospect. 2nd pair potential with offensive upside still in his development but started to show promise as last season ended (Final month had 13 games with 6 points, 3 goals, and was a +7 playing 22+ minutes a game against other teams top pairs)
