kassians_fist
This is probably a stupid question but during Sochi are there going to be NHL games scheduled? How will that work? I don't remember what happened in 2010 as that's when I first "got into" hockey after seeing my first live game!
Goat James
Of course there aren't gonna be NHL games played during the Olympics... Do you think Pittsburgh would let Malkin and Crosby run off to Russia for two weeks in the middle of the season?
Innovative
There is an NHL break during the Olympics. So no NHL hockey during the Olympics.
TheAntar
The Olympic break is like a long allstar break. Also no allstar game in oly years.
hockeyville88
I personally think that they should shorten the NHL schedule in Olympic years. They continue to play an 82-game schedule despite having 2 less weeks of game time. This means more back-to-back games and fewer days off for the players and maybe that is why there are so many long-term injuries being suffered this year. If I were the NHLPA I'd advocate for maybe a 75 game season during Olympic years. But the NHL may not go for that. They're already hesitant to have NHLers participate in the Olympics. Bet they wouldn't be crazy about losing revenue as well.

Dumbledore
Nope, no NHL games during the Olympics. The last Canucks game before the break is on Sat Feb 8, 2014 in Toronto. The next game is on Wed Feb 26, 2014 where we host the Blues.
Azzy Mahmood
My solution would be to lengthen the calendar for the 82 games to take place, say start a week earlier and end a week later.
