Yup, grab yourself one of those usb dac's and connect it to your existing gear and play the 96/24 flac files and I all but guarantee you'll be converted. Using USB let's you bypass both your likely cheap/crappy PC soundcard/analog out (spec'd for cost/size/power, not sound quality and susceptible to electronic noise) and Windows poor handling of audio signals. Basically they minimize colouration, noise, timing/jitter issues etc from your audio signal so you're hearing the most neutral/cleanest representation of the digital audio file you can.
