Hodge Podge of stuff Rangers Related that I find intriguing
Juri Hudler led the NHL Flames in scoring last year with his best season to date at age 31, putting up 76 points
Matt Stajan, drafted directly in front of Jiri Hudler back in 2002 at 57th overall, had a late season push and good playoffs which saw his minutes rise from 11 per regular sseason game to 16 per playoff game. If late season Matt shows up in camp he could be in for a good year, for what that is worth.
Thomas Vanek's off year showed up in the score sheets with only 52 points in 80 games. And that is an off year. lol Upside to this is next year will be great, relative to this one.
Jarome Iginla still led Colorado with 59 points, despite being 38, we are looking for another strong season from Iggy.
We have added to this mix two 3rd overall draft picks from 2014 and 15 in Leon Draisaitl and Dylan Strome, which is a great injection of youth, talented youth at that, We have also maintained what we have considered a strength in our blueline, defensive scouting is a strong suite we can play year in and year out.
We got younger, but not at the expense of talent, and we got leaner..not carrying as many contracts as in previous years will allow us to focus on the impact players and making room for them as they come to us.
Lastly we brought in a third netminder in Keith Kinkaid, with the intention of signing Chad Johnson and playing the hot glove. We really want to have a tough choice to make at the end of training camp and we want to move forward with the hottest netminders.
The additions of talented forwards Nik Kulemin and Eric Fehr to round out our middle six really complimented our team strengths at this time and as of this moment, we believe we already have an infinitely better product to ice in 15-16 than last year, and really there haven't been many changes, as this season could have as many as 5 new faces in the organization. Not a bad spot to be in.
Edit: not that we are finished, we still have at least two irons in the fire, but I am very excited about the Rangers this season. I wish it was September already.

SIGNING: The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed forward Cal Clutterbuck to a 4 year deal.

small.pngCal Clutterbuck: 4 years, $ 12.0 million dollar contract ( $ 3,000,000.00 per season ).

We are very excited to welcome Cal back to our squad. We were looking to add toughness, speed and bottom-6 depth and we feel Cal was the best fit for our squad. We have familiarity with him and are excited to have him share our long term vision:

________ - Tavares - Okposo

Grabner - Hertl - Strome

Clutterbuck - Bolland - Clarkson

Desjardins - Tierney - Goodrow
