How many stars can we afford?

When you draft and develop your stars and treat them well, the cap isn't as much of an issue. Because some of your stars will be on ELCs and others will be on home town discount contracts. And as has been pointed out, as long as you are careful with the NMCs and full NTCs, excess star players can be easily traded for whatever you want.

We have less "Stars" than any team in the entire league....and this is your concern ???

1 of the 3 is signed at an incredibly team friendly long term 5m/yr contract and another just signed his ELC...

When doing a forum search for dumbest post...I hope this one pops up.

Thats pretty short sighted when you factor in other things like re signing tanev and still having to replace some of the vets and the market value will have gone up to so if there's a stupid reply award then your the winner hands down chump...

can't wait for your next post on how we should proceed if one of our top players is diagnosed with a terminal disease....will be equally relevant.

You logic just doesn’t pan out.

If all these kids turn into high paid stars, we won’t be signing high priced veterans because those roster spots will be filled by the young “stars”.

Some kids won’t pan out, some will sign cheaper bridge deals that buy us years for expensive veterans to come off the books.  New ELCs will form along.

Don’t confuse the fact they are the best players on “our” team as them being the best players in the league.

This stuff isn’t opinion, you can literally go to Capgeek and play armchair GM.  You can look at comparables signed over the last couple seasons to find ranges of salaries and the % of salary cap they represent.  There aren’t any realistic numbers you can put in that end with us being in cap trouble for the foreseeable future.

Makes as much sense as your initial post...

So you can't figure it out?  so you and some others here feel it's ok to depend on what comes after the stars are paid huge money and then the secondary side of the team isn't that good depending on what's left over cap wise?  how has it worked for us so far?  with the exception of 2011...
