It's almost always about the money.   And yes, playing in certain US states, that have no additional income tax, that have no Jock/entertainer tax, their money is worth a heck of a lot more then any other Canadian and some US states as well.    Everyone has family for example.    And family that's attached to that family.   It's a difference between buying an extra house a year and a bunch of cool cars for some, OR setting up a trust fund for cousins or nieces and nephews.     It matters for sure.
