While it may seem sometimes "remarkable" what AI is doing right now, it still doesn't think for itself. We literally have to tell the AI what task it needs to achieve and the AI's going to only focus on that one task. We're not at some point where the AI's about to have some existential crisis. The main concern would be humans themselves making an AI that does bad things. I think that should be more concerning than the AI itself. This all being said, the fact that Hollywood's made it a concern will likely mean that it doesn't happen because people will have it on their minds as evidenced by the articles. UnkNuk
AI: Can you tell that these 'photographs' are artificial? Whether it be artwork, literature, music or photography, content created by artificial intelligence (AI) is on the rise. So advanced is the content being generated that it is becoming increasingly difficult to determine what is real and what is artificial. .... The potential pitfalls of such content were recently demonstrated when German artist Boris Eldagsen entered this year's Sony World Photography Award with an AI-generated image and won. Mr Eldagsen refused the award and stated he was just being a "cheeky monkey" to see if any of the judges "knew or suspected that [the image] was AI-generated". "AI images and photography should not compete with each other in an award like this," he added.
