  1. I honestly kinda miss that. Blowing all those leads was at least somewhat funny, this is just sad. I guess every soap opera needs some filler episodes because this is what the last few home games have been.
  2. I'm at the point where I'd rather watch Pettersson play an entire game by himself than sit through the rest of the team attempting to play hockey.
  3. It's actually pretty disturbing how pervasive gambling has become in all sports now that they've legalized it in Canada. I joke about it a lot, but I know that if I ever seriously started doing it, I'd never be able to stop.
  4. Some snippets of the article were posted in this Reddit thread. Big takeaway is this one:
  5. Meant the Colts blowing a 33-0 lead yesterday (unless there's a joke I'm missing).
  6. Something about blue and white teams blowing big leads this weekend, huh.
  7. Yeah, it's no wonder this organization feels so out of touch with how fans feel about the current situation.
  8. So either ownership is driving the bus or they're too incompetent to find the right people to manage this team. Culture of every sports organization starts at the very top and right now it's broken.
  9. Honestly think the next collective step for the fanbase at this point is to tune out. Fans getting angry helped get rid of the previous management group, but it seems the overall directive from ownership is still the same - compete now, worry about the consequences later. You more or less said it. As long as we keep funneling money into the team, Aquilini won't change his approach. Honestly starting to think that even if we do stop paying attention, his response will be to panic and direct management to make a bunch of all-in moves instead of blowing the team up. I've come to accept that the Canucks will be perpetually mediocre as long as he's in charge. It's why I don't really care about winning and losing with this particular collection of players anymore - it won't make any difference.
  10. England decided to get ahead of missing penalties in the shootout by missing them in regular time.
  11. Appreciate the writers for this season's Canucks soap opera giving us a throwback episode. Hope Bieksa's got something good up his sleeve tomorrow.
  12. This is the best trashy reality show in town. They disgust you by falling behind 4-0 and then pull you back in with a 4-goal comeback.
  13. Once you realize that the Canucks in their current state are just a hollow corporate entity (in spite of a few people who are actually trying their best), you can start laughing at the whole spectacle. This organization is a failure from top to bottom right now and we're just soaking it all in.
  14. It's what happens when someone who inherited his privilege and made his living on abusing the average citizen gets to run a hockey team - no vision, no strategy, no patience.
  15. There have been worse teams on paper, but arguably none other than the 97-98 team was this bad relative to their supposed talent level. No shame, no backbone, no fight, just a pathetic collection of losers. Aquilini deserves this embarassment, but he's probably just like the emperor in the Emperor's New Clothes - too delusional and arrogant to see that he's the problem.
  16. The sooner you embrace that the Canucks are not a hockey team but actually a trashy reality show, the more you'll be able to sit back and laugh:
  17. I personally think it was overblown, but it was still evidently enough for the Croatian players to take notice: In any event, it's not that big of a deal. If anything, Herdman's mistake was telling his interviewer what he said, not that he made those comments to his own players. Like others have mentioned here, I don't think it would have mattered, anyway. Canada didn't have the depth or talent in their midfield and backline to stop Croatia's attack. They got a valuable dose of reality, but I still appreciated that they didn't shy away from the challenge.
  18. Been super impressed with the progress Felix has shown this year. Four singles titles, a 16-match winning streak and team competition victories at the ATP Cup, Laver Cup and now Davis Cup. Seriously think he can compete for a slam next year. Can't ignore the work Denis and Vasek did, too. They along with Felix won several important singles and doubles matches together to deliver this title. Only wish Milos could have been there to enjoy this.
