The Masters starting today.

Most golf analysts predict this to be one of the most epic Masters tournament in history, with the reassurgance of Tiger, who seems to be back to his former self.Rory is on top of his game,Bubba is always hot.World number one Luke Donald is playing very well.Phil is also a multiple winner at Augusta, and playing very well.

In short, the field is very strong and there is not really a clear favorite to win this.Should be very interessting week.

GO TIGER..... :towel:

Congrats to Tiger for his 2nd win this season and 73rd PGA tour win.
He equals Jack Nicklaus for most PGA tour wins.

Of course it was. Last week I knocked in a shot from over 100 yards. I was trying to do it, but that doesn't meant it wasn't 90% luck.

I dunno how you can compare over 100 yards to what Tiger did. Not even close to the same thing. Plus that chip won him the tournament. Fantastic shot!!

Exactly. Tiger walked up and picked the exact spot he wanted to land the ball and read how the ball would release down the green. Absolutely perfectly read and perfectly executed shot. To be able to see that shot was brilliant but to be able to pull it off.......genius.

That was an unbelievably intricate shot to pull off...pure skill from Tiger. I never "luck out" around the green. I either hit it the way I want to or I don't. Tiger hit it just the way he wanted.

So, who does everyone fancy for the US Open?

I would love Westwood to win, he won well in Europe last week with new irons and more importantly a new putter. Tee to green easily the best player in the world but his putting is no better than mine. He did look much much more confident with the new putter last week though so fingers crossed his stroke holds up this week.

I am hoping for a Rory repeat. Also would be happy to see Bubba, Fowler, Donald or Furyk get the title.

Love Rory, my favorite golfer right now. But he has far too many blowups to bet on. Hopefully one day he can get that under control.

I think a more experienced caddy would help Rory so much. JP seems to have little or no input in what he does. I am no fan of Stevie "Great front runner" Williams but he would help Rory so much out there. Anyway, I am not a Mcilroy fan, dont know what it is but I just cannot seem to like him.

Just seen an interview with that year old kid who has taken Paul Casey's spot............WOW......14 years old??? Thats unbelievable, anyone would think this is tennis

Looks like Tiger settled things down a little.
Pretty tough course by the looks of it. The scores a pretty high.Tiger is leading at -1 and the projected cut could be as high as +7.
Still a pretty interesting tournament though.

I think thats as good an indicator that Tiger is back and comnfortable with his swing now, not so long ago those 3 straight bogies would have totally finished his round, especially the 3 putt at the 7th.......brutal.

He looks back to me, just staying focused and playing every shot one at a time not getting caught up in previous holes.

EDIT: The US Open is crazy the way they place the flag to protect par. If the cut is at +8 I can guarantee you I would be just dead playing the course like this. Luckily I am used to crazy fast greens living in the Okanagan.

I play on links greens and know hard and fast, just as they should be but the USGA get it so wrong with their pin placements. How can they put flags so close to the front of the green and tuck them in behind bunkers, I hate to see 20 under but I also get a little tired of the way they set up (some) of the US Open courses.

Ive played Penticton a few times, played in their Open a couple of years back, played Pondarosa, The Bear and quite a few of the Okanagan courses. My favorite course over there is Tobiano.........wow, amazing course!!!

My favourite US Open courses have been Torrey Pines and Bethpage Black. Though I dream of one day playing Pebble Beach.
