Onions
I agree, he has a tendency to let a weak one by now and again. He also has the ability to make a monster save and give his team a boost. The issue is the team and fans has gotten so used to this they no longer appreciate it and let it motivate them, it's just become expected just like in the beginning of games 1 and 2 when Lu made 3 or 4 outstanding saves, nobody even cared and the team continued to play like crap It's really quite sad. eyvn
the only time he makes monster saves is when he puts himself out of position in the first place. theres a reason why schneider makes saves look easy. lu just falls down and when he makes a glove save, which is rarely, the luongo homers go "wheres the luongo haters now?". forgetting that he lets in tons of bad goals and makes a few saves. ChuckNORRIS4Cup
Luongo also let in 20 goals during that series.
suolucidir
Honestly, the only reason I can see why they're choosing Schneider is to protect Luongo. If we lose tonight, Luongo won't be torched to death by fans like you or the media.
eyvn
OK so Boston average just under 3 goals a game in that series! Canucks averaged 1 goal a game, problem can't win if you don't score! Canucks this year in playoffs have scored the least amount of goals by any team in the playoffs, that's bad.
Canucklehead420
In what way? Schneider has produced better numbers in every way. If you're counting games, take Luongo's first 30 games. Either way, Schneider's statistics have been better.

ChuckNORRIS4Cup
have you not realize the trend of when this team scores, luongo usually lets one in? its hard to be motivated when that happens. am i the only one who notices this?
AngNMGN99
Either Luongo or Vigneault will be gone next season. I can't see how either can co-exist after this. AV just burned a bridge, I bet Luongo is absolutely pissed.
nuck nit
i agree with this move but your saying schneiders numbers are better with his grand total of 2 playoff games?
klw604
AV waited for aquilini to say yes. That contracts getting moved in the off season.
Tanev's Smirk
I guess just like last game when Cory let one in, it was to hard for the team to be motivated?
Canucklehead420
are you saying schneider would have let 20 goals in the boston series? i highly doubt that. he doesn't let in the flood gates like lu does
nuck nit
They were playing rather motivated (just poor shot selection) that game. The difference is Cory doesn't seem to let the goals phase him. Luo on the other hand stares off to the rafters and his entire game changes.
tkoisthx
Aww whatever, at least AV finally had the balls to make a decision that puts the team first and not a player's pride and reputation. We want to win.
Bure1994Mclean
Oh boy oh boy...is AV out of his mind? I know this is the correct decision, but you have to kind of look at the big picture. If we lose the game, what kind of message does that send about the direction of our future? It might just be the pessimist in me, but if we bow out tonight, it has to be with our #1 at the helm. One thing I can tell you though this is the right decision and AV has balls to be making it. Also, I wouldn't expect any different treatment whether it is Luongo or Schneider in net. One goal in, you get the benefit of the doubt, two goals in you switch it up. You really have to wonder how big Luongo's ego is and how he's going to take this. nuck nit
AV was told to start Scheids. It was not his decision.
ChuckNORRIS4Cup
AV's decision to put Booth with the Sedins? Try a new line at the most important game of the year? I don't agree, Burrows should be with the Sedins.
King Heffy
At least we have 2 goalies who are both capable of starting. Look at Pittsburgh...
