Luongo Get Out Of There, Go To Tampa Bay Or Somewhere ~ Don Cherry

Point B does not follow point A by any stretch of reason.

The so-called Canuck "fans" and the media have treated Luongo brutally these past few years. If he feels unappreciated or if he feels done with the city and the unfair scrutiny he receives game-in and game-out whether he wins or loses, then he should leave. I have always been a Luongo fan and will always be one, but regardless of the money he is making, he is getting a raw deal and should head somewhere where he will be appreciated. If he feels he is being made a back-up to Schneider, he should go like Cherry says. Luongo has carried this team for years.

By the way, I will be the first to laugh and say, "I told you so," when Schneider buckles under the intense media scrutiny and vitriol from Vancouver's fair-weather fans (which 95%--at least on these boards--seem to be). No goalie in Vancouver has ever got a free ride, and once Luongo is gone, the spotlight will be on Schneider.

When the luongo fanboys finally realize that he has not won anything in his career, except for the gold medal which is questionable, I wonder what they will do?

He did not win a Vezina, nominated yes.

He did not win a Memorial Cup

He did not win a Stanley Cup

He did not win anything folks, get that in your head

He won a jennings with Schnieds

I'm not saying he's a bad goalie, and I hope we can keep both as I've said a few times. But you fanboys have got to open your eyes.

For $900,000 or whatever it is that Cherry is overpaid, you'd think the CBC could afford someone who can pronounce players names, refrain from calling enforcers pukes, and spare us the endless self-righteous ranting.

I love Luongo but am not going to feel sorry for him - that is professional sport - when another competitor plays better than you, the obvious consequence is that they earn the job... He has had a great career and will continue to - people who think that no one will want him have no clue - Luongo would be a serious upgrade for a whole lot of teams, and the chance to acquire a proven franchise goaltender doesn't come along very often. His cap hit is modest and for teams that have money to spend, his contract is not going to deter them. If Philadelphia had not spent the farm on Bryz, you can imagine what they would do to get a Luongo. Tampa, Florida, Toronot - all teams that would be out of their mind to pass up the opportunity.

For those suggesting like the morons at the Province did, that Lecavalier will be coming to Vancouver, it is years to late to propose that, and makes absolutely no sense for Vancouver to take on his ridiculous contract - Luongo has much more value than a dump for a cap hit that would cripple the Canucks.

Out of respect.

If you're a fan of the Canucks then you're a fan of all the players.

Yes, you don't have to like every player but you don't have to be anti player.

I consider you a hater as you intentionally mispelled his name.

You don't mean what you say.

You say you would like to keep both goalies yet your alias says otherwise.

Enough points for you?

Luongo has so much money coming him to i'm pretty sure he will be o.k.

A smaller hockey market will be good for Lu. Less pressure will be good for him.

He's been a great goalie, had a great year , won us the Presidents Trophy but one of them has to go and it sure does feel after today that it will be Lu.

I just hope we get a big piece in return.

Similar to the way many give Schneider WAY too much credit for never being a starter, carry a team, and not winning a playoff series. But I think moving Lou may be the best move for all and if Lack isn't ready then sign a competent backup to play the 20 or so games..
