Bruins opening night news:

Early reports have reported 96 points!

Big contributors:

Kevin Shattenkirk - 12 pts (like a rock!)

Vladimir Tarasenko - 11 pts (did you see that goal!!!)

Wojtek Wolski - 11 pts (welcome back from your two year nap!)

Joel Ward - 9pts (amazing things can happen when you actually get roster time!)

Johnny Boychuk - 9pts

14 contributors overall!

Cam Ward was awful. Like, worse than Schneider awful.

Very disappointing performance, but a loss like this should get the legs under the boys like the big loss to CHI did a few years ago did.

Go back out and kill the Oilers tomorrow night.

Solid performance from the Panthers today though.

Hard to argue with the start that our netminders gave us, as both Niklas Backstrom and Anders Lindback earned victories. We are not sure if a goalie controversy will ensue right away or not, but we are incredibly happy to have both netminders on our squad.

On a side note, teams looking for an experienced netminder should contact Montreal to see what the price of Niklas Backstrom is. You may be surprised to find out what it is...

The Wild are very happy with our start to the season.

New additions Milan Michalek and Alex Kovalev added some offensive punch that we needed.

Dany Heatley and Devin Setoguchi stepped up their game as we asked them to do.

Markus Granlund scored his first NHL goal.

Ian Cole had a strong game as well.

Andre Markov played 24 minutes while playing almost 6 minutes on the PP and 3 and a half on the PK. Despite not generating much on the scoreboard it is encouraging to see him taking back a top role.

Keith Ballard played a solid game in a blowout loss.

Ilya Bryzgalov impressed us with a solid performance despite not getting the win.

Considering the bottom 3 finish last season, I have reason to be optimistic this season and know the Wild fans do as well. We are now a 4 line deep team with solid goaltending.

Chris Stewart looked tremendous tonight. Came in to camp 15-20 pounds lighter than last year and it really showed. The commitment he`s shown to getting his career back on track is outstanding and we are glad that we stuck with Chris throughout his struggles.

He`s back!!

Also watching that game.. Tarasenko is going to be insanely good.
