Rumor: The Anaheim Ducks have made the rights to RFA Chet Pickard available as well as UFA's Mike Komisarek, Brett Clark, Ron Hainsey, and Brad Winchester. The Ducks are supposedly looking for a small return for these rights, most likely a prospect or a signed depth player. The team has also gotten some significant offers for the 3rd overall pick. GM Phaneuf has previously stated that the pick is off-limits but he may have had a change of heart or simply wants to see what is available. Given the Ducks roster, it would be wise to suggest that the team is interested in pieces that can help thrust them into a playoff spot. It's going to be an interesting draft day as the Anaheim Ducks could potentially draft a future franchise player if they elect to keep the pick.
