Cannata and Climie going head to head tonight. This is a big matchup to see who will be the backup. Although, I have a feeling the Wolves will carry three goaltenders, because if there is a season and Luongo is dealt, Lack will be going to Vancouver, and then they'll need a number 1. So Cannata and Climie would have to battle it out.

Matson, Friesen, and Mallet also really need to impress tonight. These guys are still on the bubble, and I would hate to see them have to go play in Kalamazoo. I like having most of our prospects together in one place. It builds good chemistry for the future.

It's nice that we have a bunch of former teammates together too. We've got Sauve and Anthony, Schroeder and Matson, and Friesen and Archibald. It's pretty cool to have these friendships continue through players careers like this. It will make the transition much easier for these players in the future I would think.

Sweatt Schroeder Haydar
Rodin Ebbett Kassian
Anthony Mallet Gordon
Archibald Friesen Pinizzotto

Miller, Matson

Sauve Tanev
Joslin Connauton
Polasek Mullen

Andersson

Lack
Cannata
Climie

Ideal lineup. Although I doubt that many of our prospects make the team because Wolves management are going to wanna pick their guys too.

It's too bad the Canucks don't have more control of their farm team, because we're going to have to send guys to Kalamazoo that we might not want to.

probably just a preseason thing.

It appears so.

It seems like they have jersey numbers 1 through 40 (or however many players they have) with no names on them and just randomly assign for each game.

Roster for tonight's game: http://chicagowolves...10-05Roster.pdf

Zack Kassian for wore #28 last game. It's Guillaume Desbiens' number for this one. Darren Archibald #6 last game, now #32.

Unfortunately, I think it comes down to Mallet vs Friesen. I doubt they will carry 2 rookies as their bottom 6 centers - as in it'll be either Friesen or Mallet, unless one of them move to the wing and outplay a winger...

Matson played some last year, but I think it was mainly as a 4th liner, so he'll still have to outperform them to get a spot as he's hardly a lock. If both Friesen and Mallet continue to impress, I could see both making it.

I personally am expecting huge games out of both Mallet and Friesen. I'd like to believe there is a reason both were signed by the Canucks and at least make the bottom 2 centers for the Wolves.

Schroeder
Ebbett
Friesen
Mallet

One can hope..

I'm hoping they just haven't updated it yet.

i'm not in canada, and I don't have sportsnet in the US, so I'm of no help there.

according to this:
http://www.sportsnet.ca/tvschedule/#
there is an AHL game at 2PM on sportsnet one. I have a feeling the wolves opener is not being aired.

we had a number of players do blogs for the canucks the past couple seasons that never made the team. a blog does not mean a lock.

Him doing the blog doesn't mean anything but he, as long as he can maintain the level of play e showed last season, could be a lock for 6-7th defenseman.

lmao, you kids are still on the semantics. It's a pretty good indication of intelligence when you can't contribute something new to a thread. The children already freaked out, you missed your chance to correct me on something very minor.

Actually, it's an even better indication of a lack of intelligence, when you post something as stupid as what you did without doing some ground work or research first. But it's an even bigger indication of a lack of cojones when you refuse to admit that you screwed up and then get defensive when someone points out why your statement was garbage.

Of course it's semantics to you, but only because more than one person called you out for not knowing what you're talking about after shooting your yap off with a stupid comment about Kassian and then, and only then, you try to gloss over and disregard it by telling people to stay on topic. Well, the topic was your uneducated comment about Kassian and his visor. And just because you don't have the sac to admit that you made a mistake and that you made a stupid, uninformed comment, doesn't mean that the rest of us are arguing over semantics...................but good try.

Unfortunately, I think it comes down to Mallet vs Friesen. I doubt they will carry 2 rookies as their bottom 6 centers - as in it'll be either Friesen or Mallet, unless one of them move to the wing and outplay a winger...

I agree. I know that Mallet can also play the wing which might help him make the team but I'm sure that Friesen could play the wing as well if needed. Friesen is such an excellent faceoff guy and defensive centreman that they might be more inclined to keep him at centre than Mallet, as coaches love bottom 6 guys who can check and keep the puck out of their own end.

Haydar scores off his skate off a shot from Sweatt. 2/2 in my prediction. :bigblush:

Apparently they're crediting Sweatt with the goal now. So so much for that...

Sweatt with 2 goals tonight though!
