The Los Angeles Kings won the lottery and the privilege of drafting the only 4.5 star player in the draft, Dylan Gratton.

74 overall, 4.5 Yellow. Pretty solid offensively, but staking is a bit weak and defense is pretty bad.

Overall, a very weak draft, I'd say.

Phoenix Coyotes are looking for a starting goalie and 1st line forwards.

The only untouchables are Rundblad, Ekman-Larsson, Backlund and Shinnimin.

Past first rounders are available, including 2014 6th overall pick Kevin Reddington, 21 years old, 65 OVR, 4 star potential.

2015 21st overall pick, Roy Shaw, 20 years old @ 65 OVR, 3.5 potential

2016 8th overall pick, goalie Stan Down, 20 years old @ 59 OVR, 4 star potential.

Open to offers!

Yeah that rental trade was pretty bad I thought you would give him karrlsson back for a 7th, what was the point of that trade for sharks they didn't get anything for the future.

Edit. I think Washington should have to give up Galieve and that 1st he got back for karrlsson.

I think mpt shouldnt get penalized by giving up anything. The players involved should just be traded back, but for next time the team renting a player should have to give up a pick or something. Renting isnt realistic (Never seen a team rent a player to another team in the NHL) and dont know why a rule is even made. There are rules set for Free Agency to make it more realistic and fair and this renting rule just doesnt make sense.

A player was given up. It wasn't a free rental. A 3.5 star prospect g was the main reason why Colorado won a Stanley cup. It's equivalent to a first round pick or a second if you are lucky.

San Jose has no problem with the trade so you shouldn't either

Renting is dumb. Just a couple of buddies trying to help each other out. No room in hockey for this kumbaya nonsense. Having said that, there was no rule preventing this sort of thing from happening probably since no one really expected this to happen in the first place kind of like masturbating on an airplane.

On the subject of the Karlsson situation, I'm not sure what players' "rent value" would be. Probably more than the spare part that San Jose got in return, but mpt is a hustler (meant to be a complement so don't take it the wrong way) when it comes to trades so props to him on getting Karlsson for so cheap and winning the cup.

Thankfully such a thing will no longer happen as it is quite ridiculous and unrealistic.
