g_bassi13
according to psychologists, that means that you pay too much attention to race, you may need some diversity training. Link to comment
avelanch
And if I was to say I think that Koreans, Chinese, and Japanese are all the same, then the same psychologists would tell me I need some sensitivity training, lol. Link to comment
g_bassi13
yep, but if you were to say I know they are all different, and I celebrate all of their differences and cultures for what they are, but I cannot determine which is which simply by looking at a picture, then you'd be doing right-o Link to comment
avelanch
That's good to know. Next time I meet an asian person, I'll intentionally get their race wrong. And when they correct me, I'll respond with the prepared relevant greetings and customs. amidoinitrite? Jokes aside, I couldn't really see any way that simply being able to identify someone's race could be viewed as racist. Link to comment
Guest Gumballthechewy
I find this thread to be insulting and almost racist. Link to comment
g_bassi13
i don't think they consider it racist, they just think you're TOO focused on race... then again, it's psychologists were talking about, they read way too much into everything. Link to comment
avelanch
I don't see race. People tell me I'm Indian, and I believe them, because I have 10 cousins that run gas stations. Link to comment

g_bassi13
not seeing race is the lowest actualization along the race spectrum.... or something like that. Link to comment
avelanch
I see race when being paired along side culture as something to be celebrated. And it's something everyone should feel comfortable with. Simply acknowledging it's existence is not a bad thing. Link to comment
