Wrong again. Jesus gave His life for every human being on this planet. Past. Present. Future.

I disagree.

I doubt it - maybe for a socialist - and even that's a stretch.

Jesus gave His life for everyone.
Not one "political theory" would do that.

You do realize socialism is less extreme than communism, right?

Also, for the sake of discussion, let's pretend Jesus can't solve all the worlds problem by dying. Unless he was totally crazy and tried to kill himself anyways, he would undoubtedly still have an opinion on economical matters, the environment, social issues, etc. What would they be?

I don't think he would mind the rich paying 6% more in taxes for one.

Buddy I called this EXACT situtation on here two years ago and was flamed, so I guess I have a bit of hockey knowledge, not to mention the 4 years I played in the OHL idiot.

The conspiracy theories that used to be against Lateralus:
Puberty, life, movie theaters, movie theaters that frown upon you pulling it out, movie theaters that frown upon you pulling it out during a children's movie, Toy Story 3, Pixar, who ever decided to make Woody so damn attractive, a job, his mothers basement, being 40, being 40 five years ago, dogs who can out run him, all dogs, the Olympic committee, Truth, Fact, Honesty, Logic, Newsflash, a father figure who was there to see him learn to ride his first bike, bikes,

It is easier to give ones "life" when you just KNOW "Big Daddy" is gonna resurrect you, and then lift you up to the heavens .. in that case, death, like Crucifixion, is a dawdle ..

But aren't they giving their lives for god who in turn is doing everything he does for everyones sake?

But isn't letting yourself die rather fighting to live the same as killing yourself? Doesn't God say that all life is sacred? Any harm you do on yourself you are doing unto god as well? Wouldn't letting yourself be killed be the same as letting someone kill God?

He had access to other weapons but chose to use none. In fact, the Jewish people were expecting their saviour to be a militant leader but Jesus apparantly didn't fit the bill.
You should read and study the bible before you speak about it.

Jesus is too big for petty labels and ideologies.

“My argument against God was that the universe seemed so cruel and unjust. But how had I got this idea of just and unjust? A man does not call a line crooked unless he has some idea of a straight line. What was I comparing this universe with when I called it unjust?” - C.S. Lewis

Well you certainly didn't understand it if you came to the conclusion Jesus would be a militant leader. That begs the question, what else do you think you understand?

Does becoming an Evangelical Christian involve having your ability to grasp sarcasm and irony removed? Seems so from what I have seen.

Feel free to believe your book of fairy tales (whichever of the many versions out there claiming to the "The Word of God") you choose but do not expect that others will choose to do so.

I chose to. That's one (of the billion or so).

Does being a lawyer involve having your ability to grasp sarcasm and irony removed?

Or is it your anti theist attitude that makes you jump all over anyone that even hints that they believe in God?

Yes, because sarcasm is easy to detect with the written word with no understanding of the speaker's personality. (Sarcasm btw).

You also seem to not understand why there are so many versions of the bible. You should study a little more. That's fairly basic knowledge.

The very first requisite in becoming "born again" is "thou shall not practice tolerance" .. I do believe the second cardinal command is "thou shall resist all forms of intellect, comedy, irony and free thought" .. please don't get me going on the third one .. it tries to address women's right's and fails miserably ..

Jesus, btw, was executed by politicians. Doubtful he'd be a fan of either side.

He'd probably be an advocate of the seperation of church and state. Y'know, how God had intended it to be?

If indeed this guy is God or the Son, do you think he'd be at all interested in the political problems of the United States of America on modern-day planet earth?

That's like asking a person to polish a grain on sand on a beach just because that grain of sand thinks it's important.

It is not.
