Jeez guys, I was just naming random cities in my head and a state name came to my mind. No need to make big fuss about it. This is what happens after a 10 hour shift.

No, that you were naming random cities in your head and "accidentally" said Alabama.

I know Alabama is a state but I was just tired and named it as a city. Anyways, am not going to argue with you about stupid little things. What was the topic about? It was something about Michigan passing a bill or something, right?

I have been there and have experienced some of their most multicultural cities like LA and Las Vegas. I want to know if that multiculturalism has spread out into cities like Alabama, New Orleans etc.

obviously Chicago is going to be far more culturally and ethinically diverse than a farming community in Bohunk, Idaho. But I live in a suburb of 30k....not a major city....and there are countless numbers of Asian, Hispanic, and various European stores and shops where signs and spoken words are not in English. ATM's require you to select a language before anything else. There are 12 houses with American flags on my street.....also 3 Mexican flags, and an Irish, an Australian, and Swedish flag.

Nobody is making them change thier signs or remove thier flags or become American. While I'm sure there are still those opposed to diversity....as a whole, the country has become more excepting of others and thier cultures/beliefs.

The actions of a few shouldnt be seen as a representation of 330,000,000 people.

That is encouraging .. I just hope the people who "welcome" the diversity will stand by their neighbors when the racist element blames them for the next "terrorist attack" .. ala blaming Sikhs as being "terrorist Muslims"

How about getting back on topic? I made a mistake and you don't seem to let it go. So you want to discuss about how I mistakenly named Alabama as a city instead of a state for 10 more pages?

Yeah not only that, but you parroted that nonsense about "Americanization" at least three times. How about you do some research or come and experience it for yourself before you start making idiotic statements like that one?

Bottom line here is man that you know absolutely nothing about the diversity down here except for what you have been told, and you made blanket generalizations without any personal experience or evidence to support them, then used the "melting pot" term which I haven't heard anyone down here use since I was in middle school.

Well, am just hearing it from other people who have lived in the States. Honestly it is just my perceived view based on what other people have told me.

i guess it depends on the person and thier own personal perception. If a person wants to perceive America as a melting pot where people expect others to become Americanized, you can find plenty of examples of it. You can also find plenty of examples of America becoming more and more tolerable and aware of other peoples beliefs.

i hope so too! But I cant answer that with certainty, unfortunetly. My town is pretty boring though and we have yet to have to deal with radicals or racist groups or murders. And I hope we never do.

I invite everybody to actually check out Canada some time, then tell me how diverse it actual is outside of Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver.

Then go to the U.S., and tell there are not MANY distinct regional cultures and ethnic enclaves, be it Chicanos, Tejanos, Boston Irish, Miami Cubas, NY/NJ Italians, etc.

Or cities that are not at least as multicultural as Toronto like NYC, L.A., 'Frisco, Houston, Chicago etc.

LMAO....Did I really just hear you say Iran is safer than the US? How safe is it if you aren't a Muslim, man? Tell me that.

Oh yeah? Just how the hell would you know that Iran is safer than the US when you've never been anywhere but Vegas and Los Angeles? You've proven your incompetence on this subject, it's time to move on to your next abomination.

Because there aren't daily mass shootings for crying out loud. How would you know that Iran isn't safe for non-muslims, when you haven't even stepped foot into that country? Talk about a hypocrite. At least I visited US and traveled to multiple US cities and even witnessed a rape scene right outside of my hotel (which occurred in Vegas). Have you been to Iran? I lived there for 10 years, but you probably just saw a picture of it on the internet.

I've seen this (bolded) statement show up several times now and have refrained from commenting on it even though I have had to face palm myself every damned time I see it and frankly, I'm getting a headache from doing so.

Daily mass shootings. Really? Am I missing something here? I'm pretty regular and dedicated about getting my daily dosage of world news, news from Canada.....news from the US...and I have yet to hear of 351 mass shootings this year. Now granted, I was on some pretty heavy pain meds for awhile through August/September and part of October/November but damned if the Internet and Google can find the daily mass shootings for those months. Are you privy to some other information source I and millions of others have missed somehow?

One thing for sure is that random shootings and gun violence occur on a daily basis in US. If you deny that, than you are a liar. Gun violence and random shootings in Iran doesn't even remotely touch US stats. So yes, when "experiencing" both countries, I found Iran to be much safer.

Am just exaggerating about the mass shootings in US, but shootings (whether gang related or random) do occur on a daily basis. I don't even need a stat on this since it is common knowledge for most people. Although you have to agree with me that there has been an unusual rise in mass shootings in US in the past couple of years.

Perhaps you need to be a tad more careful about the terminology you use and double check your posts before hitting the post button in the future. I have seen this comment "daily mass shootings" more than just once or a couple of times. That sort of exaggerating does not do any argument you make justice nor does it make it seem any more valid, it just looks silly and does not lend itself to encouraging any sort of knowledgeable debate.

Yeah, I will probably lay off the exaggeration since some people in here just take it too seriously or personally.

Just let him be.. block function is awesome. You won't miss out on anything.

Even more awesome is when you're told that some people on your block list have wasted their time responding to you dozens upon dozens of occasions.
