danaimo
I've always thought the current NHL draft system is flawed. There is something very unsporting about rewarding failure. It is wrong that elite players should have to waste their first years in franchises that are poorly managed (Nash, Hall, Yakopov). They should award draft positions according to how much a team improves in the ranking from one year to the next. This still gives the bottom teams the most opportunity to get the 1st overall and the top teams the least chance of picking higher. The real benefit of this system though is that teams can move up the ranking spot right up until the last game of the season, so there is always something to play for. This system would reward improvement rather than rewarding bad management, cough cough Edmonton.
aqua59
very one seems to sapeculate from where the Canucks will pick to whom they'll pick and every years is the same. No one ever guesses the Cancucks pick. Heck no one ever really gets it right past the first few.
