Redmond Severed Femoral Artery

10 posts in this topic

As per Gino... this dude had his femoral artery completely severed.

Gino Reda@GinoRedaTSN

With the Femoral Artery completely severed, he immediately grabbed a towel and applied pressure when emergency medical help arrived.

He owes Peluso his life... you have about 2 minutes before you bleed out. It is literally the worst blood vessel to cut in your entire body aside from your aorta itself. (way worse than jugular and even worse than carotid). Most volume of blood goes through there than anywhere and it is really hard to get enough pressure on it because of the size of the thigh.

I guess pretty soon we will be talking about Kevlar leotards instead of socks!

Maybe Under Armour can come up with something... or they could have the outer uniform sock and the pants be of cut resistant fabric. That could possibly alleviate some of the comfort issues the players have talked about with the socks.

Shannahan should suspend the coaching staff as well as the player who injured him.

No injury shall go unpunished.

Oh my gosh. I hope the kid makes a full recovery. No one deserves this injury. Poor guy.

Sad to see him go down in such a way. He was having a very respectable rookie season.
