I have been a huge Canucks fan for many many years, and I think that we have a great team BUT I struggle to see what the point of having Dale Weise on the team. Lets face it, he isnt a big scorer and his fighting skills are pretty weak, so why not get rid of him? What are your thoughts?

No we don't really need Dale Weise, he's the definition of an average pro hockey player.

He kills penalties, hes just an energy player, like many from the past, like a tanner glass.

What do we need him for? Sure he has scored a few goals, but for the $615,000 a year the Canucks are paying him, surely we could find a much better enforcer? I just dont see how he earns his money

Pretty much this. These players are a dime a dozen, and every team employs them. If it's not Wiese, it's someone else. At least his paycheque is nice and small.

Oh I know that are problems are bigger then Dale, but I just dont see the point in having a below average hockey player who cant really fight all that well as our enforcer.

Obviously we don't NEED Dale Weise. Guys like him are a dime a dozen. He does a decent job, but if we can make an upgrade I wouldn't mind.

Since when did Dale Weise became our enforcer? I thought we had Sestito?

Do you have a good suggestion on who to replace him with? It's not like he stealing a lot of minutes from someone more worthy.

Untouchables: Tanev, Jensen, Kassian
Mostly untouchable: Sedins (need someone to man the fort and no trade value)
Open to trade: Everyone else
Drive to airport: Bieksa, Edler

Bring back: Ehrhoff

Yes we have Sestito now, but its common knowledge that Weise isnt on the team for his hockey skills.

The team that I hate the most is definately the Bruins, but I would LOVE to see Milan Lucic join us. He is a much better hockey player and one of the most feared enforcers in the league

He's a 4th line player. I don't see the big deal. I guess we don't need him, but someone has to play in that roster spot. He's kills penalties and is more reliable than a true plug like Sestito.

Unless you plan on putting Burrows on the 4th line, I don't get what the issue is.

He's a quality 4th liner. I like him in that role personally.

He's not on the team to be an enforcer.

I've always seen him as an average 4th liner that doesn't really have the skill to grow or provide much more. I'd rather see the spot given to someone on the rise either through the wolves or a trade.

Maybe "enforcer" is the wrong term to be used here as imo "enforcers" are supposed to have fighting ability- unfortunately, Dale doesnt have that. My whole problem with Dale Weise is that he doesnt add anything to the team. Sure, he can kill penalties, but so can many others. I dont know, he just irriates me, but thats just my own personal opinion.

His a solid 4th liner who fights, kills penatlies, rarely take any himself and scores once in a while.

Please stay in the kitchen. If you ever watch him closely he actually can carry the puck down the ice and make plays with it when he gets in the zone. He might not have the best touch around the net and his points are not great but thats expected from someone who is on the 4th line. There's a reason why he's never been a healthy scratch, and there's also a reason he gets moved up to the third line when an injury happens or something like that. He's alot better than Sestito and Pinizzoto, so I dont know why you complaining

What more do you want from a 4th liner? I mean, yeah, of course we could get an upgrade, but the guys role is minimal compared to others. He chips in once in a while, fights often, and kills penalties,

First of all, you can leave your sexist comments at the door. You have a different opinion to me? Thats fine, but there is NO need to be a sexist pig. I have been watching hockey for 35 years thanks, and I am fully aware of what he does and doesnt do thank you. I just think that there are other players that would make a better fit to the team!

The guy earns $615,000 a year (Yes, I know not much compared to most players) but still, even for a 4th liner, I see zero talent. He doesnt score and he cant fight- so really what good is he???

Seriously?

He's the Dutch Gretzky. 48 points, 19 games.

Yes seriously. Who cares what he did in the Netherlands?? In 31 games for the Canucks he has 2 goals and 3 assists.

Weise and Gretzky should not be mentioned in the same sentence.
