My son just turned 7 years old. I guess it’s a combo of Covid and Canucks not being in the playoffs, but I have never seen him more engaged by a hockey game.
He’s pumped and he knows exactly who wears number 16!

Kind of surprised me signing Ferland to that contract (that no insurer would underwrite) and then Ferland goes out almost immediately with concussion problems, that our owner didn’t fire Benning right then. But Benning was a fantastic puppet. Modern day “Lamb Chops”.
Wasn't Lamb Chops the show that ended with "The Song That Never Ends"? That's fitting.

Red wings just came back from a 4-0 deficit and won 5-4 versus the Pens! Wow, that’s worse than any of the losses we sustained in our first couple months!
HA! No way!
The last time I looked at the score it was 4-0. Didn't look again until I read your post.

I've dropped this long time ago but Alf keeps prodding.
Brings up John Tavares in a topic about the OEL trade? There's no relevancy at all.
And then you and some others keep commenting about my username for no reason... you guys aren't even involved/related to this issue. I like how you like to jump in to something that's frankly, not relevant to you at all...Cheers mate. Agreed it has nothing to do with me. FWIW I never once commented on your username so that's completely untrue. I simply called BS on your claim that you'd have to go back to 2006 if you wanted to change it. Your reaction to such a small thing combined with at least a couple of false statements amused me and so I commented.

But you don't see the incessant trolling? I literally pasted screenshots from a year ago but Ok.
This is gaslighting at it's finest.
Bully goes after someone. The crowd then gaslights the victim and makes them the villain.
Clearly you have no intention of dropping it but I don't see you as any kind of victim (at all). Your screenshots don't help your cause.
Gaslighting indeed
I'm done with this I think.

You can copy and paste this exact comment to Alf.
No?
It's not bothering me at all, I just don't understand his obsession with my username. I guess the dude has nothing else to do. 65k points since 2015.. I think CDC is basically his life at this point. Good for him I guess... guess there's nothing to do at the Senior Home.I don't see him relentlessly complaining and begging the mods to punish another poster. Just you.

You're correct.
But to give some context, I picked this username in 2006 - dude wasn't even drafted yet.
Alf has been harassing me for a while about my username calling me a Leafs fan etc (see snippets below).
Unless I had a time machine, how the hell would I know John Tavares would be a Leaf? lol
Mods have turned a blind eye over this incessant trolling but gives me a 'friendly' warning. Tell me how this makes sense? I'm just trying to talk hockey and this guy literally harasses me about my username.
Yet I'm the troll and he's not?
Yes clearly that's next level trolling. Poor you. How could the mods possibly ignore such evils? What is this world coming to.
Better lash out and whinge as much as possible!
For real... you can use the "ignore" function and/or you can easily change your username. If it's truly bothering you (I doubt it actually is) then you have options aside from complaining.

Why do I have to change my username because some grown men are annoyed/upset on a hockey forum?
You don't but you seemed to suggest that time travel was the only way you'd be able to do it.

My bad, let me go back in time to 2006 to change my username because some grown adults are annoyed at my username on a hockey message board.
OR you could go in to your account settings and click "change"?
I admit that time travel does sound fun so maybe your way is best.

I think so. The first troll. He got his start in the analog era. Sadly he passed away about 8 years ago.
Speaking of trolls , there's this oddball on Youtube that uploaded a bunch of prank calls to Vancouver media through the years.
Who is the host with Tony? Kinda reminds me of a Simpsons character.

Hey all you JT haters, please read…
It's a good point for sure. Puts things in to perspective a bit. The majority of those players have better advanced stats and significantly more takeaways than JT however. Millers play this year has been concerning no matter which way you look at it.
I think you may be on to something with him fighting an injury. He looks... wrong? I don't expect him to age well but I don't think that age is currently his issue.

Preaching to the choir. I wanted him gone last spring. He made no sense for us to extend here.
Doesn't mean that at +/-1PPG power forward who can win draws/play C in a pinch, and is on expiring bargain deal, with a below market extension is "untradeable". Again, "win now" teams would be thrilled to add that if we can make the cap work short term for them by retaining this year or taking back other salary.
There was a fellow from Pitt on Jeff Marek today. Jeff was asking him what Pitt currently needs. He said something along the lines of "a top six winger who can provide offense and preferably be capable of playing C in a pinch" My eyebrows raised so high that they were tickling the back of my neck.
Sid + JT would be quite the duo if Pitt could afford it.

Which part ?
The rumored return. I do remember hearing the same thing but I thought it was fan/media speculation. Do you know if there is/was an actual report of what the offered return was?

So last summer we could have had:
Chytil
1st
and lundqvist could have flipped him for a 1st
for Miller
and resigned Bo for 7.5/8
think I would have done that or if Bo didn’t want to resign then we could have had that haul gone into this season without Miller flip Bo embrace a tanking year and get a haul for both miller and Horvat.
very annoyed
Is that confirmed or just based on the fan speculation at the time?

Yes, this seems odd. However; his English language skills are not exactly perfect so I could see him using both descriptions in trying to convey his point.
Having said that, I don’t believe it ever happened. He claims the team used it for motivation so it would be fair to say at least 30 or so people were conscious of it. How could this possibly remain quiet for 11+ years ?If Bieksa addresses it on HNIC his words will be carefully chosen. He’s too smart to sewer himself.
That’s as much energy and attention I’ll give this ‘story’.Did you listen to it? Didn’t sound to me like he was struggling with English. Sounded like he goofed on his story.

I suppose it's fitting that Ovi broke a Gretzky record against a Boudreau coached Canucks team
I looked at the all-time numbers before the game and thought "great he can't get to 800 and make history against us"
When they said on the broadcast that he had indeed set a record against us, I started laughing. It wasn't a pleasant laugh though. It was angry and slightly maniacal!

Interesting thread. I have mixed feelings. On the one hand I'm glad we're turning it around. It's what's best for our younger players and I think there's too much talent on the team t properly tank
On the other hand I want the hope to be stomped out of the optimists so we can stop enabling ownership/management to make short sighted decisions.
