@Tre Mac "up and down the lineup" - bingo, thats the issue. The guy has a certain top 6 skill set. WD had him in a checking role about 1/3 of his time last year  

I'm just not going to fault a guy for being mis-used. I think @J.R. is ultimately right on this topic, he's a good player on the wrong team, at least until now. 

I do think some combination of he and Bo + "scoring winger" in the top 6 will work well so we'll see how that pans out. 

Also don't mind him paired with Granlund as per today's practice lines either @Jimmy McGill. Yes, he's overpaid and his contract is 2 years too long (though actually quite movable those last two years as I outlined earlier today). But I'm not personally paying him and his cap not preventing us from signing anyone in the mean time. AKA, it's a non issue to us fans. Otherwise, he's a solid, 2 way, top 9 player with secondary offense. "It is what it is."
