  1. Gudbranson is a good guy. He modeled his game after some tough checking defensive defenseman from the dead-puck era. However, as he makes it to the NHL, the league is gradually moving away from the tight checking game to the free flow, speed and skill game today. Early on in his career, he still look like he has a place in the league, but as the game progresses, he just doesn't fit the modern day game anymore.

They are horrible.  I wonder if Stevie Y is a tank commander?

Idk i watched there game against Sens and they got killed. Larkin line awful defensively. Not much offended besides Larkin, Anthasiou and Mantha. Looked like us a couple of years ago.

Only have like 3-4 decent guys. I would look into Athanasiou. 30 goal scorer last year, and fast af, but playing poorly this year. Wings are really bad this year, wonder if his value drops if he continues to play poorly. Wouldn’t mind trading for him.

Stevie Y does have the guts to be a tank commander. Just look at where the Lightnings 2012 and 2013 finished in.

    After 9 games:

    2016 (7 home games): 4-4-1 (-7 goal differential)

    2017 (4 home games): 5-3-1 (0 goal differential)

    2018 (3 home games): 5-4-0 (-2 goal differential)

    2019 (3 home games): 6-3-0 (+11 goal differential)

Feels a bit different this year... like, not a fluke?

Completely agree. Also in the last 2 years, even though the Canucks were winning games early on, I always look at the roster and it does not convince me that the team has enough depth and skill to sustain it for a full season. This year, it feels different. This team's got better depth and better defense. It is also a team with more speed, skill and size.

    21. Apparently he came up to her, patted her on the head and pointed at the floor. Then kept calling her short over and over again. Not the most nefarious thing but it is extremely juvenile. When I say ‘character issues’ I don’t mean that he’s a scumbag, just that he’s incredibly immature, and I was adding that to the list of reasons why I wouldn’t trade for him in a throw away sense. The main reasons are what you outlined above.

Take this with a grain of salt. Someone I used to work with told me she has a close friend who married one of Jamie’s cousins.  And she told me Jamie almost never show up to big family gatherings because he had this attitude of “he is too important” to be at these kind of meetings. I take that with a grain of salt as I don’t know that person myself and I heard it from a secondary source. Base on all these other things I also heard about him, it does not bode well when it comes to character.

And he’s playing really good off the puck as a number one centre.  He’s one heck of a player.

He is a #1 line center who can produce a lot of points and also very responsible defensively. Toughest piece of the puzzle of a cup winning team to find is a that dominant scoring center who is responsible defensively as well. Give him another year or two, he will become a top 5 player in the league.
