The guy had 3 separate nagging injuries in his final season... He retired because his body was no longer up to it and his INJURIES were too severe. He should have just gone on IR but Florida had a vandetta with us and lui still was sour.

The board of governors also decided the same on the Hossa contract which was even more front loaded than Louis, yet Chicago has no cap penalty because Marian just went on IR and no cap penalty for Chicago... Arizona used Hossa to their advantage to get to the cap

Yet here we are... 3 mill for 3 years

Apollo, blame Dale Tallon. He threatened Luongo that if he chose LTIR instead of retirement, he would on paper send him down to the minors. And that would damage his legacy and status in the league.

There is a more detailed video on YouTube about this by legorocks99. Search “How Dale Tallon screwed himself out of Panarin.” It’s a good video, I don’t blame Lou at all for this. But &^@# Tallon. We drafted him, gave him the chance to break into the league and that’s how he treats us. Tallon should be the former Canuck that we should never respect again.

First unit doesn't have anyone that can effectively drop pass on the pp to lead the breakout. Newell brown will not approve. Needs more edler or maybe Tanev.

If at first you don't succeed, drop pass the drop pass until it does - Newell brown

Dear Newell Brown: it is 2019, the drop pass doesn't work anymore. I trust Hughes or Petey to just carry the puck into the o-zone in an entry. Also, with Horvat and Miller taking faceoffs, we might not even have to do much zone entries because they win the majority of the faceoffs they take.

This is why I wanted as much of our final roster as possible playing the last 2 games of the preseason. Easy 2 points gone for no reason other than the team not playing together before and spending the entire game working out the kinks. Hughes struggled defensively early but when he started getting thrown out with Bo's line things started happening for us.

Virtanen, Leivo and Ferland were downright bad. Everyone else got better as the game went on, which is all you can expect under the circumstances. Bo's line was the best line in the game.

It also has to do with the schedule of the preseason. Back to back games on back to nights in a sequence of 3 games in 4 nights. It is reasonable for the coach to not play the full roster on both of the last 2 pre season games. I am more mad at how most teams have their last pre season game in the weekends and our last was on Thursday, that’s almost a full week without action as well.
