  1. Gosh, I really dislike Tampa. Everyone on the team including their smug-looking coach. Hope the Rangers finish them off.
  2. uh, you said "brief" just kidding! This was very interesting and it's odd that so many rankings have some of these players so low. Dumais, for example is ranked low, maybe because he's 5'8", but Savoie is only 5'9" and he's in the Top 10. Seeing Howard ahead of Cooley, and in a group with McGroarty, Nazar, Gauthier and Snuggerud. Nice list of notable players though, I'll be keeping an eye on them.
  3. First, does NJ really want or need Miller? I don't think they're ready to contend yet. But say they do want JT: Some expecting the moon in a Miller trade, like the #2, but I'm not sure he gets that or a huge haul. I think I'd even be somewhat happy with Miller to NJ for Zacha, McLeod, a 2nd (2022) and a 4th (2022). Devils have three 4ths. Pettersson Horvat McLeod ...down the middle, Zacha into the Top 6 The 2nd would be in the mid 30s, so, almost like another 1st. Maybe JR/PA find a temp RD in free agency (Letang, Subban, etc) e.g. OEL - Letang Hughes - Schenn Dermott - Myers Rathbone
  4. Yeah, Mateychuk could be the BPA at #15, great skater, smart, good D. Lacks some size, but he should grow/develop over the years as well. Would the Canucks need Hughes, Rathbone and Mateychuk? All mobile Dmen.
  5. Yes, I would agree with this. I have a feeling Lambert, Kasper, Miro and Korchinski will be taken before #15, but that means some players could also fall. Canucks may have a tough decision, there could be quite a few good players still on the board at #15 (Yurov, Nazar, Lekkerimaki, Mateychuk), then having to choose. Who knows how it'll play out, but there could be some surprises. Would be fun of they traded up. Bold.
  6. There seems to be a few players that are ranked a bit lower for various reasons (Lambert, Miroshnichenko, Yurov, Trikozov, Casey). Would it be worth taking a chance?
  7. Funny, I didn't think it was that dirty. Let's also not forget how dirty Kadri plays the game too. Kadri's out for the series? You mean one game?
  8. No way VAN is trading Hughes. I'm surprised this is even being discussed. They might as well sell the team, and move it. If they make a deal with NJ for the #2, it'll probably include Miller+.
  9. JR forecasting Miller's production over the last 3 years of his new contract (34-36) and offers JT 6 years x $7.25 and Miller gets traded
  10. Tough to say, but I'm a little surprised Nazar fell so far. He's a right-shot C, just what the Canucks need. Other than Karlsson, the Canucks don't have any right-shot Cs in the system. (not going to count Costmar) They would need to trade down to pick up a RD, I think. Not a bad idea either as it would give VAN an extra pick
  11. Canucks taking (LD) Mateychuk at #15, and passing on Nazar, McGroarty, Kulich and Yurov? I guess we'll see what JR/PA do here, Canucks do need everything (all positions) in their prospect pool, but is Mateychuk the BPA?
  12. NJ asking Slafkovsky if he can play C? Why? They've already got Hughes, Hischier, Mercer and McLeod. Good that VAN asked about it as well, and my guess is he's not a C and therefore will not be a Canuck. I can't see them trading the world for a winger.
  13. I just overheard them talking about it on SN650, for a minute. I think someone just texted in the idea and they brought it up. Doubt it actually happens, but you never know. JR could be aggressive and CGY's cap is an issue. Be a nice payback after they signed Markstrom and Tanev
  14. I've been listening to that too, Drance is such a tool. Didn't they comment on the idea of a possible trade with NJ for the #2? Now they're talking about the idea of an offer sheet for Tkachuk Fun show (except for Drance's voice) Imagine if both of those worked out Tkachuk - Pettersson - Boeser Slafkovsky - Horvat - Podkolzin Me likey
  15. Miller has been real good, but I'm now back on the "Trade Miller" bandwagon. JR/PA commented that the players need to come to camp ready and to be ready for Game 1 next season. I think this was a notice to Pettersson, and maybe a bit of a challenge. They want Pettersson to take that next step and become more of a leader, what Miller was last season. Time to grow up Petey, take hold of the reins and do your thing. I sure hope he's using this off season to get stronger. Miller to BOS for a 1st (2023), DeBrusk and Beecher
  16. What I heard concerning is when PA recently said they still have JT and Bo for this coming season and came across as there being no urgency to re-sign them this off season. They will talk to their agents, get the discussion started, but they still have them for next season. Are they really going to trade JT at the TDL if they can't agree on a new deal? That would be crazy, for a team trying to make the playoffs - trading their best player down the stretch? Or crazier yet, letting JT walk after next season. IMO, the contracts for Bo and JT need to be done this off season, they don't need the distraction. The more I'm learning about the 2022 prospects and with the Draft coming up - I would love it if Van could get another 1st+.
  17. I think Miller's camp intends on re-signing in VAN, if they agree with JR's offer. Like he did with Boudreau, JR will leave it up to Miller to accept or reject the offer. I don't think it'll be overly generous, because the future of this team isn't about Miller. It's about Petey, Boeser, Podz and Hughes etc. Miller will basically be in a support role once the youngens take the reins. Could start to happen as early as this coming season, Petey with the new dome, lookin' good, feelin' good. JT commented that some players (Petey) need to come to camp prepared and be ready to start the season. Petey can't take half a season to get warmed up this time, he needs to be good from Game 1. And I think Pettersson will be ready. Boeser is also going to be on a mission. My guess on Miller's offer will be 5 years x $7.75. Does he accept that? Edit - salary
  18. Grab a bunch of leaves (TOR), pour oil all over them (EDM), and then spark a flame (CGY) = and watch it all go up in smoke
  19. This is a two-fold extra BOLD prediction: Kasperi Kapanen will score for the Canucks
  20. If that's the case, then the Canucks need more 3rd Line players with potential and some upside. What I see in Chytil is a big, young forward who's built for playoffs, and smart, knowing where to be. I'd take that player every time.
  21. How they're ranked - Top 15 - read 'em and weep 1. Wright 2. Cooley 3. Slafkovsky 4. Nemec 5. Savoie 6. Kemell 7. Jiricek 8. Yurov 9. Lambert 10. Nazar 11. Lekkerimaki 12. Gauthier 13. Mintyukov 14. Miroshnichenko 15. Geekie Honourable mentions: Mateychuk, Kasper, Korchinski, McGroarty, Kulich, Pickering So many good choices, Canucks need to try and get another 1st or high 2nd
  22. He wants to play with McDavid? Shocker. If that's where he chooses to play, I hope he fails miserably. Sorry, I despise these types of players, just looking to cash in or get a free ride to a Cup.
  23. And some people think the Rangers will give the Canucks Lafreniere, Chytil and a 1st for Miller?
