  1. Agreed, he's a 55-65 point a year guy. People will argue he's now a point per game player. I argue that scoring is way up this year, and guys have been having crazy years to this point in regards to their individual point totals. So, no way should any manager be resigning guys based on this years campaign. If he's dealt I'd like to see it to either Detroit for Bertuzzi and Edvinsson, or to LA for Arvidsson and Clarke. Both trades are fair and help both teams
  2. Canucks win 5-2, GWG- Hoglander, Vancouver takes more PM's.
  3. Ok this sounds fun. My prediction- Canucks win 5-1, GWG scored by Kuzmenko. Canucks PP goes 3/5.
  4. So we give up Miller, Boeser, 15th OA for Severson, 2nd OA, and 39th OA- No thanks Canucks loose massively. You do realize Miller had 100 pts, 160 hits and will make 5.25 million next year.
  5. Your exactly right Rubik, very long time Canucks board contributor,,, but people like Alflives feel they have some sort of entitlement, or expertise when it comes to Canuck insight. Has Alflives ever been right? JT Miller is 100% getting dealt, and this deal will be the measuring stick of how JR and Co. will be assessed. JT Miller is an 80-90 pt./year player, who gets 160 hits, and currently makes 5.5 million/year. He is only 29 and could, in the right scenario continue producing like this for 4-5 years. We'd better get back a friggin haul in return, and that's why I suggested that trade.
  6. Hey Alflives, Making thousands of post doesn't make you a competent hockey guy. Just look at you...
  7. There is no way Vancouver will resign JT Miller, when Elis Pettersson is ready to take the reigns as the #1 center, and we have Horvat as our #2. With a Miller deal we need to acquire a RD to play with Hughes, and a forward that can play 3rd line center. What I'm suggesting is an absolute blockbuster deal that might just be what Rutherford is looking at doing. To New Jersey- JT Miller 2022 1st round- 15th overall 2023 1st round- Not protected To Vancouver- Severson Zacha 2022 1st round- 2nd overall The Canucks would still need to shed Myers salary, but then would be in a position to sign Burkovsky who would play with Horvat and Hoglander. New lines: Garland Pettersson Boeser Burkovsky Horvat Hoglander Pearson Zacha Podkolzin Hughes Severson OEL Dermott Rathbone Schenn
  8. Boeser>>>>>Rust, end of story. Boeser get's 40+ goals playing with Crosby and Guntzel
  9. That's exactly why you bring JT into the New Jersey club, he'll be their leader until Hughes can take the torch.
  10. Boston makes this deal because they're trying to land Chychrun and it will cost them Carlo, leaving an opening for Myers as their 2nd RD.
  11. I haven't made a trade proposal on this site for a while, but there's no time like the present. With all the noise surrounding the idea of Miller and Boeser being signed or dealt, I need to step in and add clarity to this situation. You have to look at the big picture here, are our young players like Pettersson ready to be an everyday 1st line centerman or not. I think Petty answered that loud and clear with his performance in meaningful games from January on (one of the best producing players in the NHL). So with that established, Miller MUST be dealt prior to the draft to capture the absolute maximum value (the other thing to consider is that Miller wants to play back east- Facts). Trade #1: JT Miller - C-(5.25 million) + Tucker Poolman-RD (2.5 million) to New Jersey for Damon Severson - RD (4.16 Million) + Pavel Zacha- C-(2.5 million) + Alexander Holtz- RW (.925k) The next component of our thought process takes us to Boeser. He's a good young player who, unfortunately, will never maximize as a Canuck. He needs to be closer to his home/family/Duke. My heart goes out to him, and I've always been a big fan. He's a great young man and he needs to be moved for his own sake. Minnesota cannot afford to take him on (that would have been ideal), but Pittsburgh is the absolute next best opportunity for him, playing with either Crosby or Malkin = Boeser scoring 40+ goals no doubt. I would be proud to watch him do this, there. Trade #2: Brock Boeser- RW- (6.5 million) + 2022 3rd + 2023 3rd to Pittsburgh for John Marino- RD- (4.4 million) + 2022 1st Our final big deal revolves around the Canucks biggest (6'7") player. As I watch Boston struggle with the Hurricanes I can't help but think, they're really missing Chara. They really do need to make that deal for Jacob Chychrun, but they could also use Myers on the right side of their D as I believe Brandon Carlo will be what Arizona will be part of the package to land Chychrun. Can you imagine a defense that bolsters Chychrun, McAvoy, Lindholm, and Myers. Very solid, very big, very capable. Trade #3: Tyler Myers- RD- (6.0 million) to Boston for Jake DeBrusk- RW- (4.0 million) Our final cap savings on these transactions equates to approximately 4.35 million. Not to mention we no longer have Luongo's 3.0 million penalty coming off the books to boot. With that money we sign UFA Andre Burakovsky to a 5.5 million x 5 year deal and Brandon Sutter to a 1.0 million x 1 year deal, as he'll be ready to go for next year and would be a huge part to our PK. Ok here's the new look lines and I'm sure you'll see why this is exactly why we need to move these players that we hold so high, as the team becomes substantially better, and playoff bound. Garland Pettersson Debrusk Burakovsky Horvat Hoglander Podkolzin Zacha Holtz Pearson Sutter Lammikko Highmore Dickerson Lockwood Hughes Severson OEL Marino Dermott Schenn Rathbone Burroughs Keeper The Canucks will still have around 5.0 million to play with if they let Chiasson, Richardson, Hunt, and Halak walk. Flame away guys, but I think you can see a more balanced team here. Faster, bigger, and more competent on the back end.
  12. The Toronto Maple Leafs are extremely interested in aquiring JT Miller for a number of reasons. 1. He's the exact type of player a team needs to push a good team over the top in winning a cup. Ask members of the Lightning; he was a massive engine and integral part of that run and cup win. 2. At 5.2 million for the rest of this season and next- what unbelievable value. 3. He adds to that leadership group. 4. He is and plays like a skilled power forward- he'll lead that team in hits for the rest of the season. 5. The Leafs save $2 million, and can use this to snag a depth defenseman like Chiarot. So what should the Canucks expect in return? William Nylander and Timothy Liljegren. The Canucks solidify Petey's wing with Nylander ($6.9 million) and Boeser plays on the right side to secure the Canucks top line. Liljegren takes a top 4 spot on the Canucks team, and is young enough to develop into hopefully Hughes's permanent partner. The next trade is exactly what JR will be looking to do: Tyler Myers to Columbus for Roslovic and a 2nd rounder. Roslovic is inexpensive, young, fast, and a playmaker first type player. He will be the perfect linemate of Hoglander and Podkolzin = The Canucks third line. The Blue Jackets do this because they get a top 4 RD, which they sadly lack. The Canucks shed Myers salary which frees up cap to cover the Nylander deal and allows room to resign Boeser. Just my hopes for Team construction. Flame away!!!!!!
