  1. This could be the guy Allvin is willing to trade up for, to make sure VAN gets him. I find it a bit interesting that Simashev was barely a 1st rounder and now he's being talked about as the possible best D in the draft. Watchung video of Simashev though, he dominates with his size and speed.
  2. I have a feeling they might buy on the cheap (UFA), and fill spots with Brisebois, Juulsen, Hirose, etc. They might also try to acquire a D in a trade (Garland, Beauvillier) Kinda hoping they sign Mayfield to play with Quinn
  3. Be nice to have Soucy on the Canucks, but my guess is he'd prefer to re-sign in Seattle. They're a good playoff team. Why would he want to leave that?
  4. Swingin' for the fences! Why not? Although, I'd probably lean more towards taking Benson, but if Michkov pans out and wants an NHL career, he could be amazing.
  5. So many great choices at #5, which I think would be a difficult one. Who should the Canucks take at #5 if they had that pick? Leonard Michkov Reinbacher Dvorsky Benson or ?
  6. I wonder which teams have interviews with the primadonna. Could the Canucks be one of them?
  7. I highly doubt Michkov is that fast (as Bure) and I don't believe he's the guy they want. I can see them possibly trading up to get Dvorsky or Danielson, to ensure they get their guy.
  8. Good post, I never gave it much thought (Petey now showing up in a baggy hoodie, etc), whereas before he seemed as lot more hoiti-toiti. Petey seems to be pretty grounded, quiet, confident, mature. And damn, 102 points last year. I think he can beat it next season. Kuzmenko is working out like a mofo on the beach with his trainer, and I'm sure Petey is lifting, building up that upper body strength. Those two are gonna rip it up.
  9. Interesting way of "moving up", never thought of that.
  10. Looking forward to the Islanders visiting the Canucks next season. Will Horvat get BOO'd? Excited at the idea of the Canucks moving up to get the player they want, a guy they're obviously sold on and believe in. Really curious who that is. I would imagine it's Carlsson, but it would be very expensive to trade up from #11 to #3. What if Carlsson goes #2? I guess the Canucks get Fantilli? They could sure use a C of that caliber. Someone mentioned a Demko trade to CBJ. Very intriguing! It's quite possible Demmer would like going to the Jackets to play with Gaudreau and that young group coming up. Getting pumped for this Draft, Canucks could make a splash.
  11. I'm encouraged and believe they'll improve the team next season. I like that Boeser and Myers will be returning, I expect them both to be better. Garland and Beauvillier need to be traded IMO. Interesting talk about moving up. He mentioned it more than once. No talk of moving down. Is Carlsson their target? Or maybe a trade with MTL to try and get Smith or Dvorsky? He mentioned two D in the top group that could become good NHL players. My guess is they are Willander and Simashev. Do they let Burroughs walk and not qualify Dermott? Allvin mentioned good D that could make the team (Juulsen, Woo, Hirose, Johansson, McWard) They might try to fill spots with these guys.
  12. Danielson is my #1 choice followed by: Dvorsky Willander
  13. Boeser has 2 years left. My guess is they trade him at the 2025 TDL They need to try and trade Garland and Beauvillier.
  14. Seeing all of these lists and rankings. They seems to be based on factoring their skill, skating, shot, etc. - where they will be as a player if they reach their ceiling. These lists don't factor in character, work ethic or whether the player will even make the NHL one day. I wonder what the Top 10 would look like if all of it was assessed. You wouldn't find Michkov in the Top 10. Michkov might be an incredible player, but if he decides not to play in the NHL, what good is he? I can see him doing Kovalchuk things, if he plays in the NHL at all.
  15. to CBJ - Miller, Podkolzin and #11 to VAN - #3 (Carlsson)
  16. That would be crazy - Bedard - Michkov, but I also heard CHI may want to trade up their #19 pick, maybe to #11, and then they'll try to get Benson if he's there. Bedard-Benson.
  17. If he decides to play in the NHL. My bet is against him. A lot of hype for this 150 lb Russian in hiding. Noticed on Wikipedia, they have Michkov at 6'0" 175, but I don't think this is accurate. Elite Prospects has him at 5''10 148.
  18. Canucks doing a bit of rumour-milling as well "Oh yeah, we'll definitely take Michkov if he's there at #11" translation - "please teams ahead of us, take Michkov"
  19. I hope ARI takes Michkov at #6, just to piss off WASH. As far as WASH scout badmouthing, I don't think any of this is made up and the other GMs are likely aware. Michkov is super risky, no thanks.
  20. I can see Michkov being taken by ARI with pick #12, and then him deciding not to report. I hope the Canucks steer clear Danielson Dvorsky Willander Reinbacher Simashev
  21. I think Allvin has plans to really do some things now that they'd bought out OEL, retooling the D in front of Demko-Silovs. I'm hoping they can trade two wingers (of Boeser, Garland, Beauvillier). Hoglander could make the team next season, as well as Karlsson. Pretty good, cheap wingers for the middle 6. Podkolzin needs to take big steps, time for him to come out of his shell.
  22. There are things Soucy can do, that Hirose can't, but I wouldn't mind a 3rd pairing of Hirose-Schenn next season.
  23. The speed, the good size, the hands, drives the net, his first name is Nate (or Nathan) and wearing #29? Shades of MacKinnon
  24. If Millstein is in fact his Simashev's agent, then Welcome Dmitri!
