I was pretty ho-hum about the idea of taking Willander before. Thought maybe they should swing for the fences and take Benson or Michkov. But after some thought, I'm very happy with the pick. The Canucks needed a top pairing RD prospect for years and they finally have one. He's an excellent skater, high hockey IQ, can play physical, good size, good gap control and defends well.
