  1. I still make that trade at that point in our history. I also don’t think OEL’s contract is that bad. I think @-SN-wasn’t far off with the bare cupboards comment, but we’ll see.
  2. ‘billionaires’ are not a monolithic whole that all act the same, Hiring a President is not an unconditional handing over of a proverbial ‘kingdom’, Rutherford is not a total stranger, and there is a wide berth between total autonomy and owners pet who must do everything said owner dictates (acting like it must be one or the other is a bit foolhardy). I’m not convinced Francesco is a hands off owner by any means, but some of the assumptions being made (I’m thinking of the over sized hamster @Alflives) are probably a little over the top.
  3. I want Bo back, but if he’s not going to sign pre deadline he has to be moved.
  4. He did mean what he said….”Myers was the number 1 rd on the market that year” is pretty clear.
  5. I mean… Dredger and Lebrun so a block of salt might be in order.
  6. Largely, you’re preaching to the choir, I’m just saying I don’t think it’s always as easy as a decision as some in our fan base make it out to be. We should have pulled the trigger in 2012 but that’s distant history now.
  7. I hear ya…. But I am also not sure that necessarily always translates in a linear fashion.
  8. Yeah… while my ideal is that Horvat is back next year, I think it needs to be settled sooner than later. Make your best offer and then move forward.
  9. a rebuild likely means less revenue even IF fans are on board. I don’t think that’s necessarily a good reason not to do it, but I think we as fans may not always realize the level of commitment it may take from an ownership group to let that happen. ‘We can handle a rebuild’ may often be followed by… I’ll just not watch as many games which would be exactly the reason ownership may be hesitant (fair or not).
  10. 7x7 is a respectable offer. Definitely not enough to get it done given the start Bo has had but it’s not insulting. I actually think if they went 8x6.875 for a total of 55 they might get it done.
  11. You all realize the reason Bo hasn’t resigned yet is because he’s agreed to go to a contender at the deadline to help bring in assets before resigning for a discount in the off-season right? #truecaptain
  12. At his age I don’t think anyone breaks the bank for him but I wouldn’t be shocked to see someone offer him 2 mil IF the cap increases. Right handed d who can play top four if needed might be interesting to a few teams around the league
  13. Yeah but you don’t like Boeser to begin with so your opinion doesn’t count
  14. Fabbro is an expiring warm body isn’t he? Don’t know that Nashville would give enough along side him to make it worthwhile though…
  15. You said no matter how many goals he scores he won’t be a first line Centre. That’s a terrible take. Period.
  16. There’s a very good chance many of us will not see a better Canucks goaltender in our life times….
  17. Should have retired his number. Guy is a Canuck legend, and HHOF. That should seal the deal.
