They forgot to put in parentheses (for Connor Bedard)
In that case, they’re doing a hell of a job!

Shhhh.
This doesn't fit the Bo is useless narrative.
Bo is definitely not useless, far from it. I know you aren’t being totally serious. But the main issues have been people getting tired of his leadership style. I have loved what he brings to our team year after year. He is what he is, a great 2nd line center IMO…I honestly think he would thrive if he wasn’t the captain anymore. Kinda like when Luongo gave it up, it was a distraction to him. Once he passed it on he started playing better again.
That all being said, contract wise his demands aren’t realistic at all. The team has committed to JT. I think with all due respect to Bo it’s time for a change and he could fetch us a very good defenceman in return. Great player, but different paths have now been set. That’s just the reality of it.

In preseason, he could hardly skate; I fail to see how a broken hand had anything to do with that.
He didn’t like it here, plain and simple. We seen the same player this pre season as the one last season. Gets traded and is instantly better…I keep saying it, this city puts way more pressure on its players than most other cities…maybe aside from montreal and toronto. Lots of players have come here and flopped hard. It’s a tough city to play hockey in…how many times have we heard about players loving playing in the states as there just isn’t as much fan pressure there since the NHL is kinda a second thought compared to football, basketball, baseball…you can just play hockey and not get hassled every corner you turn wherever you go in the town.
Not every player enjoys being the center of attention.

What happened to him?
PHILLIP DI GIUSEPPE
Injured to start the season. He was injured a lot last year…before he joined the Canucks he never had injury issues…what is with the west coast air and hockey players? Not sure lol. So many injuries already this year.

I love the fact that he has no issue getting his game up to snuff in the AHL…everyone here for the longest time shamed our former management for letting go of Dahlen for this guy…yet Dahlen has flamed out, couldn’t stick it in San Jose and has went back to Europe AGAIN…and here is Karlsson taking the slow but steady growth plan to a tee, all his patience and hard work will pay off soon. I think we got a player with him. How high his ceiling is I’m not sure. Will be watching him closely in Abby. Good greasy goal last night.

I missed the last game - what happened to Poolie?
Nothing really, he just never come back after the period ended. There was a play at the end of the period that he looked a bit awkward, looked like ankle possibly, then just never returned to the game. One of the news reporters said he was walking with a bit of a limp out of the dressing room…all just guesses right now. Really hope we haven’t lost another player to concussions.

A number of players have been on the wrong side of the puck, most have not been burned by it-yet.
It is early yet, but time is ticking away, they best get this fixed, fast.
Kind of why I question an 'optional' skate tomorrow. Way too early, imo for a rest day, especially with the way the games have gone so far.
It’s part of the NHLPA agreement, so many off days, optional skates, etc. I think they are pre determined for each team before the season starts. That being said, who shows up for optional skate tomorrow could say a lot of who wants to win more than others…but hard to judge in that fact alone cause you never know what kind of small injuries guys have. Hopefully they get a good turn out tmrw so they can keep working the kinks out.

The ones who are claiming that Miller is the problem are the same ones who are claiming that Horvat is the solution.
Think long and hard about that...
There is no easy solution. Benning left a huge hole in our defence. Couldn’t seem to draft it either, had his chances but whiffed. The kind of defensemen we need will not be easy to pry away.
I think people are being to hard on JR and co. The tight cap makes it hard as hell to move any asset.
I agree, they played their hand and have decided JT is worth keeping over Bo. They need to resolve this situation and balance the team out asap. It should not have gone into the regular season. No reason to drag this out. Horvat plus picks or prospects will get us a decent defenseman in return…one would think.
Even tho JT has stunk to start, I still like his passion. Made no excuses and said exactly what everyone thinks…a guy like that will fight to get out of that funk…Horvat…another vanilla “this is unacceptable speech”…holy crap am I tired of hearing that from him. At least Miller owns his shit.

Miller is playing with 2 pylons. Even McDavid would have problems getting points with them.
He’s not going from 99 points to only 60 points. Boudreau will likely put him with Podkolzin and Garland next game and let BO skate with the pylons.
Chiasson is staying in North America waiting for a contract. Get him back here asap. Get the Miller, Podz, and Chiasson line back together. They were dynamite at the end of last season!

Everyone wanting to trade Myers and we can now see what this team would be like without him. He's by far our best RD, after him we just have a bunch of bottom pairing/AHL guys. If you look at the team, RD is the one place we're thinnest so I'd say Myers' injury may be the most important to the team. We lose a top-6 center and no problem - we've got 3 who can cycle in there. Lose Hughes and OEL can step up. Lose Demko and dare I say Martin can play some games.
But we lose Myers and we're an absolute mess on the PK and defensively. We got shredded against Edmonton and I'd like to think if Myers is in there on the PK, we at least stop one or two goals against and win the game.
Never have understood the hate Myers gets but I think it all comes from the cap hits of these players, and right now 6M would be a steal for a top-4 RD who can defend decently. He makes the odd dumb defensive play but does far more good than bad, and this is a little taster of what life would be life without him - and it's not good.
Chaos giraffe is awesome if used properly. I agree! He is under rated by a lot of us fans. He brings some size and grit that we desperately need! Cheers

I feel the same he was my favorite player for a long time. I just thought he would develop and grow into more like Linden or something similar.
I take the team ahead of any one individual player every time and I think the team needs a new direction.
Totally agree, I really thought the same. To be honest, I miss the old Bo Horvat, bull in a china shop guy…since he become captain he has tried to do way too much and I personally think it’s derailed him a bit. But circumstances are circumstances, he was our best option after the Sedins.
