  1. Just have this sneaky feeling we will be drafting Dvorsky assuming all of Bedard, Fantilli, Carlsson and Michkov are gone

getting really excited for this draft! Especially if we can accrue a few more picks in the top 3 rounds!

Schenn and Boeser could definitely get us some real draft capital for this year

Maybe, since the club likes what Schenn brings, they are taking into account his home situation (very pregnant wife) and will keep him? Looks pretty crappy to the other players if we move Schenn in this circumstance, no?

It’s a business and these guys are making a million bucks a year.

If your not doing what’s best for the teams future then your not really running a business

I agree, Woo has stepped up his whole game - he’s handed out some massive hits, too - very strong for his size. There’s lots of room for effective RD in the NHL - especially in Vancouver if Schenn and Myers are moved before the deadline.

We have a couple of guys pushing for a left side D spot next year: Wolanin and Johansson, so I don’t know where that puts Rathbone. I’ve seen so many young prospects lose their confidence and boy do they struggle to recover. Similar thing happened with Rafferty - looked like a world beater in the AHL, got run and injured with a couple of suspended hits and wasn’t the same guy. Maybe Rathbone can work out with the Hughes this summer and improve his D game like Quinn did. Lots of quick, mobile, smart D make the league much more interesting these days.

Johansson is a right shot D as well. So Woo and Johansson can compete for an NHL spot next year

I hope he signs and am excited to see what he can bring but let’s not get carried away.

This guy is not close to being an NHLer. He’s gonna need to work on some things in the AHL.

It’s what we should have done with Adam Gaudette but we rushed him into the NHL. I hope they get it right with McDonaugh.

    We definitely rushed Gaudette.

I think you can’t treat every player the same though, if McDonough comes in and earns a spot he deserves to keep it until he struggles and needs some time in a lesser league

Looking forward to seeing him this year. With that shot and size he could be a great fit with Petey one day

i think friedman said that allvin wants another 1st. don't know how he gets it without trading demko, hughes or petey.

apparently nyr and ottawa's 1st rounders might be in play.

Demko or Boeser(money retained). Maybe Schenn if you get a bidding war since there are very few RD on the market

I think they'll leave them all down there, they've got a good thing going.  You might see DiG or Dowling up, maybe even Rau, but I think the kids stay where they are.

At most, they might do some "auditioning" for a game or two for some guys they don't know much about.

Perhaps, but you also want some of these kids to come up to the NHL while they’re hot and let them get those games to improve confidence.

Plus it’s always nice to be rewarded for your good play by being brought up

  7. Holding back money on Boeser makes a lot of sense if it gets you some very good value coming back. Personally I disagree with most here on his poor play as he’s been a consistent 50-60 point player if he played full seasons. His injuries have held him back from playing, not from being productive offensively. Plus he’s only 25 so he’s just getting into his prime years.

you need to get a good return off this guy. If holding back 1-2M gets that done then it’s a clear choice.

Pro scouting is good with this management, clearly. However, asset management is very, very bad.

Why? We identified a player with value, felt we had players of higher value and lost a guy to waivers.

Everyone here is acting like this guy was worth something. If he was worth a pick of value he would’ve been traded instead of waived.

this isn’t asset management loss, it’s just the way the game works

  9. Then why trade him if he doesn’t have that value right now.

it’s not like we are going to be a winning team right now. Only way we will be if he rebounds and ups his play going forward.

then if we aren’t close to contending, trade him and hope you have another goalie lined up in the system.

there are only two reasons to trade him right now. 1 he wants out or 2 he fetch’s you some high value piece that eats the pain of losing him

Kings won't give up quality roster pieces or top prospects. Kings have some other good prospects though.

    Thatcher Demko and Luke Schenn

    For

Helge Grans, Cal Petersen, Tobias Bjornfot, conditional 2nd(If Kings win round 2 turns into 1st) and conditional 4th(If Kings win round one turns into 3rd)

We get a 20 year old RD that went 35th overall in 2020 currently in AHL, a 21 year old LD that went 22nd overall in 2019 currently in NHL and has over 100 games of NHL experience, a conditional 2nd that can turn into a 1st and conditional 4th that can turn into a 3rd.

We help address D and gain more picks.

Disagree, if we’re trading Demko you need a quality piece.

    Peterson, Clarke, 2nd
