  1. me too, but I think the adjustment is the real thing, and if nothing else this gives Demko time to rest, OEL can get back to health too. We can sit back and appreciate what they've done, to pull themselves back to (nearly) .500 after this start is remarkable. And at least gives them a long shot at something more.
  2. yup hit pause. If we're lucky Henry can come to her senses and speed up 3rd booster shots and make things safer.
  3. great, more false analogies. While North Korea does have a nice ski hill, you're wrong about Canada. We don't live in a free society. We live in one with the rule of law, which gives us rights and privileges. those people are wrong. Vaccines do help stop the spread as the viral load can be lower in vaccinated people. I'd really ask yourself why you are so aligned with an extremist, fringe pov?
  4. Good for him, he's been a good depth guy. And we clearly need him.
  5. if you're overweight thats a personal problem. The actual hard core anti-vax by choice is only a small % of us. And yet, we see so many people, very often rural and/or right leaning politically, trying to defend them. Why is that? The anti-vaxers need to drag people into their fight by creating false analogies and "sides' to this thing. There's so few of them, they need to bring others into their fight with fears of "freedoms" or slippery slopes or bad analogies like what about overweight people. When you stick to the basic facts, the anti-vaxxers have no legitimate argument to make.
  6. I'd like to see him on a show-me kind of deal, he's been on such crappy teams its hard to know whats there. But it would have to be for expendable assets.
  7. its one of those situates where it hurts and helps at the same time. I want to keep them both, and we can't. I am glad we have Rutherford handling this tho, I do think he'll get maximum value for either guy.
  8. yup thats the kind of deal you can't say no to, particularly if that prospect is a C with size. Can we get that much for Miller? if we can its hard to say no to. Who's more likely to get us a 1st, RHD, and a prospect? I'd have to say Miller over Brock. One thing about the new president is I think we might be able to get a bidding war going for Miller (or Brock) whereas I don't think Benning was really capable of that kind of thing.
  9. is that how it works tho? he's only 24 I thought we'd have another season of RFA control after this one? Either way, we have the certainty of knowing what we are in for with him for 1 season at least. I see your point. Miller has more tools tho, so I can see step 1 seeing what he'd want for his extension. I suppose Boesers agent will really want to leverage the threat of Miller walking too. Brock might just be too pricey if his agent goes squirrelly and tries to get a ridiculous deal.
  10. I disagree my friend. We have Boeser under team control. His QO isn't bad, or far off what he'll get so I don't see that as a problem. Miller tho won't be under our control, he's the wildcard. I look at it from the pov of how much control mgmt has.
  11. oh come on J, its not that bad. All Rutherford has to do is figure out how to keep PPG free agents, find a top pairing RHD, and move aging players on long term contracts. I kid. I do think there's some good potential options if we keep Miller or move him. Once JR et al decide on the best path, they have options to get it done sooner than later. I suspect one of the first steps, if it hasn't happened already, is exploring with Millers agent what an extension would look like. If thats off the table already then the choice is clear.
  12. I wouldn't mind Risto, but not for a 1st. He also hasn't played well for a while, so is he just on bad teams or is he declining already? too much risk to burn a 1st again, if we're going to do that we can aim higher like Chychrun.
  13. he's a left shot so I'm assuming thats where we'd use him, not on his off side. If we're going to do that, we might as well use Hughes that way since he's possibly the best defensive skater in the league. It sounds like Dahlin on the right side is a bit of an experiment: https://notedhockey.substack.com/p/rasmus-dahlin-and-playing-the-offhand Good player though, its just I don't think the cost would be worth it to our overall team building. Buffalo would want the equivalent, at least, of two 1sts and probably a good prospect too and we just can't afford it.
  14. why should I respect anyone who is willing to make others sick? yes its a small % of people, but they've lost that consideration. So do you feel the same way about someone who chooses to get behind the wheel drunk and kills someone? what if that someone was a family member? things like sports, etc. are almost always personal consequences. If your actions can have serious public consequences thats a different animal. what needs to stop is people acting like they are being discriminated against if they choose not to be vaccinated. Those are the people myself and others are mad at. Thankfully thats a small group.
  15. Q: did you get the flu shot during that time? I did get the annual flu shot, yes. so you're comparing consumer behaviour to our current health care crisis? I think we see a tell here. Its a discussion board, I will respond if i feel like it. I will try not to attack you personally but I will call out ridiculous ideas.
  16. I think tho if most of the noise is coming from one camp, you can't really call it a political sided issue. ~10% of us are too selfish, too moronic, too whatever, to take an option thats far safer than getting sick. OK fine do that. But why in gods name would we bend over for them and allow them into public spaces?
  17. there's nothing about vaccines or the science behind developing them that is political. There's nothing political about basic statistical information. Nearly all the political flack is coming from people that just don't care about others. Its not a political argument at all, its a moral one. These are the types of folks that didn't want Canada to fight in Europe during WW2.
