  1. Just curious as to why you don't think Torts got a fair shake here.
  2. Krebs was the only guy I didn't want, but you know a whole crap load more than me when it comes to these guys so now I don't know what to think.
  3. More bang for your buck with Guddy than Methot, Alzner. Sekera, Phanuef, Ericsson, MacDonald, Staal, Kulikov ect.
  4. Why is Krebs ranked so high? Genuinely curious. I haven't seen him live so I'm forced to get a sense of what he's like from what little youtube content I can find. His skating and hands seem fairly average. I like his vision, he can see the ice well. He has a nice shot and is good at putting himself in the right position in the offensive zone. Other than that he doesn't blow me away. Anyone have any opinions on this kid?
  5. Disagree with the 3 forwards on PP1. I'd just like to see Pettersson and Boeser in their spots on the half boards and Bo/Baer in front of the net/goal line. Hughes on the point. I don't think Hughes is a shoot first player, which is good. He just needs to feed the two shooters.
  6. I like Q as well but i thought i read they call MacEwen, Q.. no?
  7. Great poem. You should move it to another thread.
  8. Makes sense. thought there'd be some sort of clause I just didn't know any specifics. Thanks.
  9. Even just watching his shooting in the warm up is worth getting to the game early for.
  10. Shower thought here: Is it possible to make a contract "expansion proof"? Let's say the Canucks want to protect Demko and are planning on extending Markstrom after the 2019-2020 season. Is it possible to sign to him a contract that will pay most of his salary the year after the expansion? For example, the Canucks sign Markstrom to a 2 year, $13m contract. Could they structure it in a way that Markstrom would make $1m in year one, then $12m in year 2? Reason being, if Seattle did want to take him, they'd be essentially paying Markstrom $12m per season. Obviously these numbers aren't accurate, and I'm not saying this would be a good move. Just wondering if this theory is possible and could work with other players reaching UFA/RFA after next season.
  11. No one gave a s*** about losing McCann until he started playing with Crosby.
  12. Just got tickets for the game Wednesday. Hoping Hughes makes his debut against his good buddy Brady Tkachuk.
  13. You're asking Benning to be moved into a into a different role other than GM (president?) and being in Yzerman as a GM. Are you not?
  14. Oh right, you want Steve Yzerman. Arguably the best GM in hockey, who I'm sure all 31 teams would want. Or a guy like Yzerman... which is who exactly?
  15. Kesler handcuffed the team and Benning had zero leverage when moving him out. Dorsett was well worth the price we payed. Can't fault Benning for the guy needing his neck fused and eventually having to retire from it. Jim took over an old roster. There was absolutely nothing in the pipeline and he's done an excellent job refiling it.
  16. Saros (Nashville) is doing well, it helps when you have a very strong defensive core in front of you. Maybe it's because we're use to seeing 6'6" monsters in net, but I was at the Sharks game that DiPietro played and when he went down there was a LOT of open net up stairs. Shooters are just too good these days. I wish him all the best but he has a bunch of work to do and a long road ahead of him.
  17. I also remember him from the development camp. I actually thought he looked really good out there, even though he was one of the oldest players in that camp and playing against guys 3-5 years younger than him. Still glad we snagged him.
  18. So if Michigan loses tomorrow, that's it? Done? Season over? I don't really follow the NCAA so I don't know what league playoffs and tournaments there are.
  19. Went back and read the few pages since the last time you blessed us all with your presence. Mostly just users keeping us updated on his playoffs game/series. One post projected him in the top 4. That's about it. Is that what it takes to be compared to Jesus Christ?
  20. I see you're back to make your weekly check in to remind everyone how much you don't care if Nikita comes back. You've made this point several times over the past few months, yet here it is again. Same time next week?
  21. Not french enough for Basant Motors. Majority of those are playing with Pettersson. I think he could turn Alf into a 10 goal scorer.
  22. I don't think it would be fair to him. He's still a teen playing against men. He did what he could with what he had to work with (not much) and got $&!# on. It is what it is. If anything got a taste for what's expected 4-5 years down the road when he should be getting another shot. Let him develop into a man himself. Give him time to work on his reflexes/positioning and time with Clark.
  23. Went to the game last night and gonna echo a few comments in here. He looked tiny. Almost Pang-like. Maybe cause we're used to Nilsson/Markstrom being 6'6", Demko being 6'4". But man, there was a TON of open net. The shooters these days are so good and bigger goalies are becoming the norm, it's hard to imagine this kid being a number 1. Then again, it's looking like Saros could be going against the grain in Nashville, let's hope Mikey can too.
