  1. 11 wins/ 3 losses this year. A good kind of tire fire !
  2. KG's lifetime stats do not scream Erik Karlsson, but he has stayed up in the SHL all season and played most games. I wonder what his TOI is. Enough hockey people see beyond his stat lines to consider him to have an upside. I think that the analytical crowd wouldn't have much time for him.
  3. Nice to see RB get a decent amount of ice time. Thought he looked better than earlier in the season. It's almost TDL time, so the Conspiracy Theorist in me wonders if there is any 'showcasing' going on.
  4. Edler is great. 3rd round pick who has played 730 games in a 'nuck uniform not good enough ? Perhaps the past is not what you're talking about, so how about today ? Last night, more than 24mins ( including a short stretch injured ). Not good enough ? MDZ was 2nd in ice time, under 20mins.. The fact that management has not found a 20+ min d to surpass him for ice time is not his fault. Green plays him for a reason. He's not a #1 d, but necessity forces him into that role. Edler is great !
  5. Just uses Fake instead of Jake in multiple posts. Not funny. Disrespectful and juvenile would be a description I would use.
  6. You're spot on, but to be fair, you probably missed those hilarious 'Fake Virtanen' comments. I'm still laughing (......yes Sheldon, I am holding up my sarcasm sign ! )
  7. All CDCers agree. Negative posters, positive posters, Cpt Hindsight posters, it doesn't matter, everybody agrees. Bad signing. You have, however, left out the most relevant question. Was our owner involved in this signing ?
  8. In the Philip Holm thread, there is a fair amount of talk re Edler and his NTC. CapFriendly doesn't show any 'lists' or changing criteria from year to year. If I recall, his desire to stay in Vancouver had a big 'wife and kids' component to it. Happy wife, happy life. A couple of years later, I would assume that all these factors still apply. Maybe at the TDL next year he and his family will have to re-evaluate, but it would seem the he's with us for the next year plus. Being a Edler 'realist', that's fine by me.
  9. Thanks @RogersTowell. Sanity amongst the chaos and vitriol. Special shout out for being one of a small number that can correctly spell Morgan Rielly's name. Take an 'attaboy'.
  10. Blah, blah, blah......me, me,me......subject doesn't matter, this is the 'circle game'. The never ending round and round with no real attempt to find an answer.
  11. In video land, most hockey players are just fine. Can't say the same for basketball jerks. Only guy I didn't care for in hockey was Kelly Hrudey ( and he really wasn't that bad ).
  12. I think that correcting misspelled names, poor grammar, spelling etc would soon make me the target of every tough guy on CDC. Hated by all. Someone might even say 'your a looser' to me. I strive to be loved/ liked/ tolerated by all.
  13. Indeed. These are all misspelled versions.
  14. It's nice to see Stecher getting his confidence back. PS.....on this miserable rainy day with nothing but idle hands to guide me, I see that Stecher is still way out in front in the misspelled name list. 114 pages of folk unable to get the spelling right. Second is Petterson @ 53 pages ( plus 13 pages of Petersson ) Third to 'Stetcher' is Elder @ 33 pages and Guance @ 31 pages. I know, I really need a hobby.
  15. Good work on digging up these quotes. I think that @Horvats_Big_Head was holding up his 'sarcasm sign' when he said that. Don't ever remember the Big Ho posting anything even vaguely positive. ( that quote was late in the 2016/ 17 season )
  16. I think the CBC colour guy ( Craig Simpson ? ) demanding a 'delay of game' diving penalty was worse than the emotionally charged biased fans. ( going on memory only. Don't have any confirmation proof. If any CDCer taped that game via HNIC I would really appreciate that 'fact' being confirmed or shot down. Thanks. )
  17. http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=29376 This should answer your confusion.
  18. Not sure if you think I don't like Daniel. I love the Sedins. My comment was the Captain Hindsight moment where you realize that Henrik ended up being the alpha Sedin ( not by much and a lot has to do with being a centre ). My comment was a revisit of the pre draft Sedin thoughts. Daniel was highly regarded, Henrik, not so much ( in a very weak draft ). Using those Capt. H goggles, Henrik should be #22 and Daniel #33.
  19. Great list, but, as a 'nuck fan who has suffered unrequited hopes and expectations, I don't like to place too many new hopes on Pettersson. Sort of a 'don't tempt Murphy' situation. Murphy doesn't seem to care for the mighty Canucks. The list is a reminder that in the 1999 draft, Daniel was rated higher than Henrik. Iirc, #33 was rated as low as #10. It is also a reminder of what a great job Brian Burke did to unite the twins. It'll probably be his 'legacy' moment. I wonder what the twins would have done if drafted by different teams.
  20. Am I missing something here. We have @R.Dahlin26 stirring the pot. Just keeps repeating a very weak point, over and over again. Actually the point is moot. It's the 'pot stirring' that is important. He's loving all your responses.
  21. Iirc, CBC's colour guy ( Craig Simpson ? ) demanded that Raymond be given a 'delay of game' penalty for diving. I don't think that he nor CBC ever apologized for that. Couldn't believe how anti Canuck HNIC was. As far as Tryamkin goes, I'm a huge fan. Used to start laughing as he rumbled down the ice with that helmet that was 3 sizes too small perched on his head. His offensive game was surprisingly good. Not a huge fan of Russian draft picks, but I want the big guy back !
  22. Could be, but the words "after being expelled from the country. " are tad more negative than just moving away. This might come down to the google translate thing. Innocent words may have become warped in translation.
  23. Very interesting pick. Just going by his HockeyDB page, your analysis seems to be spot on. ( although they do list him as a left handed shooter ). I wonder what JB ( with his new 4 year contract in place ) has in mind for him. The way you talk of his D+3 year makes it seem like you are expecting him to play an over age year. ( is my math out to lunch here ?.....seems he's AHL eligible next season. )
