  1. I really don't think so. Theyre pushing for the playoffs this year. Last year it made sense because it was more of a development year and the coaching staff knew that going in. This year they need more solidity. I'd be surprised if they continued without a captain this year.
  2. I'm pretty sure you're literally the only one to have heard that rumor.
  3. Green seems hesitant based on recent comments, and I'm starting to get it more and more. Bo leads on the ice but I could see how maybe he doesnt lead completely in the room. I can see him being the leader of the youth but is he ready to play leader to the vets? Bo's personality is slightly shy, reserved. I do think he will end up captain, but I think maybe he matures another year or two before he's the true leader of that room. we dont see what happens off the ice most of the time. I'm speculating that green seems to be hesitant because he sees that horvat simply isnt the natural of the squad quite yet, at least when it comes to off-ice dynamics.
  4. I have a feeling edler will be a stop gap captain for a year or two.
  5. Personally I like Hogs and Pods in a 2nd line match up role with Horvat. Miller would be ok in that role but Boeser probably not as much.
  6. I agree with the other guy. You're silly.
  7. I'm not sold on Baumer either but you have to see how he does with the improved D before you fire him. There isn't a coach in the league who could make last years d-corps look passable.
  8. Hogs got battle. Him on a line with Podkolzin one day would be fun to watch. Better yet, a Hoglander - Horvat - Podkolzin line would have compete for days. Miller - Petey - Boes Hoglander - Horvat - Pods Potentially 2 first lines. Exciting.

    Pre-season Poll #1

ok. I think he will, but I think there's a fair argument to made against him getting his number retired. I just thought it was silly to compare his impact to Kesler's.

Lol dude, trophies are your criteria. And kesler was top 5 in selke voting 3 times as a canuck. Nominated twice. That's a far cry from always being in the hunt for the selke. Lu didn't get a vezina, but was one of the most consistently elite goaltenders of his era, if not all-time. He's top 3 in All-time wins. he's top 10 in all-time save percentage. 9th all-time in shut outs. He put up the type of stats that are compared across the entire history of the game. Lu can easily be argued to be a top 10 goalie or all time. Kesler isn't even a top 10 player in his draft class. Lu's going to the hall of fame. Kesler's name will never be said in the same sentence as hall of fame. Argument done.

    Pre-season Poll #1

Trophies sure. Numbers no. Kesler had 1 elite season in his entire career. The rest were average, at least offensively. Luongo was elite for us for most of his time here. Luongo >>>>>> Kelser. It's not even close.

lol what on earth would justify vancouver to feel spiteful towards lu at all? all that dude did was get run over by the media a screwed by the coaching staff again and again and still remained professional throughout it all. lu is as classy as they come.

    Pre-season Poll #1

again, Bure, as in Pavel. Played 7 seasons with us. Lu played 8. both players took us to the finals. both players hall of famers. I dont see how Bure's up there but Luongo wouldnt be.

4th all-time in goalie wins. Lu will be there too. Edit: 3rd all time*

    Bure, as in Pavel.
  17. Yeah, even still, I feel like PK's a different thing. PK's happy go-lucky but he's also extremely passionate. A lot of heart. I'd go to war with PK. I wouldn't go to war with Ben.

If Bure's up there, Luongo should be too.
  19. naaaaah, it ain't that. I think @Alflives put it well. it's a certain element of compete... but also more than that. I could just see how a team of highly-competitive alpha males might be thrown off a bit by Ben's happy-go-lucky attitude. It's a certain level of seriousness. Sometimes someone with ben's personality can throw off the focus of a room. Honestly I'm finding it hard to articulate what it is im trying to get at. Anyone else kinda see what I'm seeing?
  20. I get the impression that Ben Hutton's attitude devalues his stock a bit. On paper $3mil seems like a fair price for Ben. And it's not that he's not a hard worker or anything, he showed he's willing to put in work last summer, but it's just the way he carries himself. He's kind of like a big kid. I really hate to put it this way but he just doesn't seem like the brightest bulb. I could see how clubs might not want to have his personality in the room, despite him logging minutes and putting up 20 points in 69 games last year.
  21. All good man! I got the joke. Pretty clear you were being lighthearted. Some people are just weird.
  22. tbh jake dresses like every other kid from the valley dresses. hypebeast city.
  23. Agree that he's underrated on CDC. But I believe he said he's 100% at the end of the year when he came back and played the last few games. I think it's safe to assume he'll be 100% going into camp.
