  1. So is half the NHL....thanks for all your help!
  2. "Reminiscent of a young Bob Dailey......."
  3. This is true. Two bone crunching hits in two consecutive games. This is unheard of for Jake. It's exciting too see, but more than that it's a totally disheartening reminder of the player that we thought that we were getting when Jake was drafted.... but never did.
  4. But I also think in being overrated in that role, and probably not the most qualified guy for his job.
  5. I loved his version of Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through when it first came out, but have to admit that Meatloaf did it even better
  6. Lidster was the Willie-era's equivalent to Baumgartner.
  7. Last stat I saw had him down a bit, in the 250's. Too bad, I'd like have seen him gone up into the 270-range--just for the intimidation effect.
  8. Just an incredibly talented song writer who I thought never got the recognition he deserved. Sorry to see him gone.
  9. I've noticed there's a big divergence in this thread between the fans who think: A. that the most important thing for our prospects is that they be located nearby so that we can maybe watch them live and they can get to Vancouver quickly if needed for a (home) game; and, B. that the most important consideration for our prospects is that they be located somewhere where they can spend minimal time travelling to their games and maximum time practicing and developing their skills. Which kind of thinker are you, A or B?
  10. 5-2 loss for the Hawks in Gaudette's debut tonight. Looked like they were really missing Highmore and Bowey out there!
  11. Bingo. This is exactly why the Canucks will not be placing their minor league affiliate anywhere in BC. California probably, BC no.
  12. Where was Motte tonight? I didn't think he was still on the COVID list, is he?
  13. Sounds like OJ's in need of some vitamin C!
  14. If it's good for growing prospects, I'm all for it! But seriously, if the Canucks moved their farm team to BC, their prospects would spend by far the most time travelling and have by far the least practice time and time to focus on skill development than any other NHL team's farm team. It would be play, travel, play, travel, play, travel, practice, play, practice, travel, play, travel...you get the picture. Basically, it would be exactly the opposite situation of what they have in Utica now, where the proximity of all their division rivals gives them less travel and as much or more time to practice and develop players than any other team in the league. It's been a very enviable situation for player development, no question.
  15. Right. So not sure why Bowey and Highmore aren't appearing on our COVID/quarantine list. Not to mention any of the other 8-9 players Green mentioned.
  16. Yes, call them the 'BC Canucks' and they could play out of all of those cities!
  17. Long live the king! Long live Lord Benning! Long live the king! Long live Lord Benning! Long live the king! Long live Lord Benning! Long live the king! Long live Lord Benning!
  18. And along with all his other potential qualities, he's right-shooter, which we have so few of on D and Benning seems to have so much trouble finding.
  19. I sure hope you're right, Hairy. But my biggest fear with Tryamkin is that Benning delays long enough in signing him that he pisses him and his agent off enough that he just signs in the KHL for another season and waits to become a UFA.
  20. To me this video shows, more than anything, that he is getting the hang of fighting (and how to look confident doing it too). Much better than when he was here before, when you could see that he had all the raw potential to be a dominant fighter, but no actual fighting experience. For instance, in his fights with both Zach Smith & Benn, he hadn't yet realized that you're supposed to drop both your gloves in a hockey fight Looks like he's figured that out now!
  21. I remember hearing his name mentioned quite a bit in the Hawks series vs the Oilers last year, and also wondering where the heck he came from. He seemed to have been a bit of a stand out in that series, but not sure what happened to his game this year.
  22. I'm assuming Benning sees Highmore as having more 3rd line 2-way centre potential than Gaudette? Either that or just trying to get more good Canadian kids back on the roster!
