I am a fan of Benning, though he has made some mistakes, but do you think he will last if next season is similar to this season? he should just be honest and tell it straight to the fans beforehand IMO, NO FA SIGNING for a future lost season. what about the draft? and will Benning splash again in the free-agency and ruin his own plan? he will be honest about his plans? stay on the course? maybe tank a bit to better drafting? who will be the coach?

But why? what about Babcock? He benches Juolevi and plays vets.

He has good record with panthers and knights, hockey people seem to like him, he did not last more than 2 seasons? sure, but usually coaches do not last until you hit a jackpot,statistically a coach usually do not work until it works like in Tampa or Nashville, even with caps people were calling trotz to be fired until his last season that he redeemed himself. I do not think the path forward is keeping Green, he does not bring up the prospects that well. Not Gallant? OK, but someone with experience.

Why keeping Green? Why not hire an experienced coach like Gallant? been a while nucks had an experienced coach.

Let`s forget about this passing horrible season and talk about next VITAL preseason, forget Benning a bit and talk about future, what would you do in this upcoming preseason, what would be your plan? who you would draft who you would trade, who you would sign etc? and most important thing, WHO WOULD BE THE COACH for next season? what would be your line-up and ... and explain why. Let`s talk about building not destroying.

Benning is not helping himself, Whole team was having a down year including Gaudette,maybe fans do overvalue their players but he has upside and he produced, and Virtanen still around. Replace Green or be replaced.

Another question , in the current core`s prime what our lineup would look like? Core Players : EP , Bo, Brock, Hughes, Demko, Podz, Miller , Hog , Juolevi? Brock - EP - Miller Podz - Bo - Hoglander ? - Gaudette - ? ? - ? - ? Hughes - Schmitt Juelevi - ? Myers - Woo?(Rathbone?) Demko Dipietro Coach: Gallant ?

He has done a good job but has done horrible mistakes also which he should be criticized for : Eriksson contract and his handling of free agency has been a problem. Hope he has learned his lesson. If I could ban one thing for the team that would be FA signings, they are often bite you back in the end. just draft and develop,adjust the team with trades.

Just a question for how many years we will have a championship contending team if things go accordingly through the plan. Bo is 25 soon to be 26, Boeser 25. our defense is thin. coach is not that impressive. I like canucks to be a "draft and develop" franchise and always "a playoff team" with a clear system and clear identity. with a great prospect pool and depth, with a clear brand of hockey playing, a franchise with system ,culture and patience. hope Benning does not screw it up, I think Linden view was what I said above,maybe i am mistaken as I usually am. with this coaching system that is installed in Van, I do not see this vision happening.

It`s not that bad,cheer up. Later days in middle of next season would be the time to put Benning in front of Canucks jury.

I think he has another pre-season and deserves one, especially I rather have him as a GM for the upcoming draft. But if he goes who would you hire? I like Benning BUT IF I need a new GM I would go for Mark Hunter.

This season is dead, long live the next season. if Benning mess it up, it will be his last. and please hire a nhl experienced coach.

I mean consider habs logo which is the best nhl logo imo, is it boring?yes. did they change it?no. does habs have awesome branding? yes they do. sometimes boring is good and divine. I mean they way that c of canucks is constrcucted in the stick in rink.. it is a great logo.

big fan of stick in rink logo, such a timeless design. if it was up to me I would go with that logo and stay with those jerseys forever. never change a good thing.

The term was and is the issue and ppl in that exact time complained about that. Never ever pay expensive long-term contract to a new-coming player in that age range. That is the lesson.

Does anyone really likes Green`s heavy forechecking style of play? is this the way you want to see canucks play the game for years to come?

You really think canucks have not made any progress? age of roster, amount no trade clauses, prospect pool, last year run,the core? a lot of dead money will be clear this year, half of next season I would rate benning,next offseason is his key moment. he might do it wrong he might do it right.

trading him for Liljegren would be great if leafs would do it but they won`t.

Gillis inherited a great core and left behind a mess with no replacement. anyway let`s all chill and give each other and the team a break.

Juolevi and Hughes are too different beasts and both kinds are needed. Hughes will learn his lessons and it is good for him, Juolevi needs management too overcome his injuries and if his fitness goes right, imo big part of the core.
